In an Instagram post, Kendrick Lamar's sister, Kayla Duckworth Sawyer, revealed that she had beaten the odds when she graduated from college before 30 despite being a teen mom. The rapper's sibling is now a happily married mother of three and a successful business owner.

While her brother has made a name for himself as a rapper, Kayla Duckworth Sawyer found success as an entrepreneur of an organic skincare line after becoming a registered nurse and obtaining a degree in marketing.

Kendrick Lamar's sister wasn't even 16 when she first became a mother. However, she did not let that stop her from accomplishing her dreams. And now, Kayla Duckworth Sawyer is a loving mother and doting wife.

Kendrick Lamar's Sister Was Pregnant When She Entered High School

In April 2023, Kayla celebrated obtaining her B.S. in Marketing and took to social media to celebrate her accomplishment. In a tweet, Kayla revealed that she was pregnant with her first child when she started high school. She had already welcomed her second when she started college and graduated with three kids. She added:

"Less than 2% of teen moms graduate college before 30. Girls mommy did it 🎓 Next up MBA."

In 2019, Kayla — born in 1999 and took to social media to celebrate her 16th birthday in 2015 — turned to Twitter to celebrate the fifth birthday of her eldest daughter, whom she welcomed in 2014 when she was 15.

A few years after welcoming her second child in 2017, she became a mom of three in 2020 and shared, "Never got to share the news, but our baby arrived three weeks ago, and despite how awful this year been, the birth of you was the highlight of this year."

Kayla's daughters have since been regulars on her Twitter account, even though she is yet to show her last child on social media. In August 2017, Kendrick's sister documented her eldest daughter's experience at her first concert, her uncle's show.

Despite their ten-plus age gap, Kendrick Lamar and his little sister share a close bond.

In 2018, Kayla captured the joyous moment her second-born daughter took her first steps. And in November 2019, she shared an adorable clip of her second daughter working her way through the different animal sounds.

According to reports, Kayla was 21 when she said "I do" to her husband, Jalani Sawyer, in 2020 in front of a crowd of loved ones, including her famous older brother.

And in February 2020, she took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes look at her wedding day. "Lord take me back to this beautiful day," Kendrick's sister captioned more pictures from her special day in May 2020.

Kayla Duckworth Sawyer Is a Successful Businesswoman

Since graduating from Santa Monica College as a registered nurse, Kayla kickstarted her career as an entrepreneur and founded Novaganics, a holistic body care line. She shared:

"Novaganics was birth through my frustration of finding raw natural ingredients for my everyday hygiene. Throughout my transition to becoming Alkaline/Vegan, I knew I had to do something about it."

Despite their ten-plus age gap, Kendrick Lamar and his little sister share a close bond. In 2017, Kayla revealed that her famous brother had gifted her with a 2017 Toyota as a congratulatory gift.

"Thank you big brother @kendricklamar," Kayla tweeted, and in 2023, the "DNA" rapper was in the crowd at her graduation ceremony from the University of Arizona Global Campus in Glendale, Arizona.
