A woman and her husband Jason were married for 13 years before they decided to separate. They shared two children, 12-year-old Hannah and 9-year-old Noah.

Their marriage ended abruptly, but it didn't surprise her. They knew early on that they were no longer happy with each other's company.

What Happened After the Divorce?

Jason began dating Emily, 30, after their divorce. She was 15 years his junior, but age was just a number to them.

Jason and Emily eventually got married, and Hannah and Noah had to get used to the fact that they now had a stepmother. Co-parenting was difficult for the woman, who had an issue with Emily's lack of maturity.

Although Emily was a grown woman, the woman felt her husband's new wife made questionable decisions at times. Her immaturity was only one reason why the woman didn't like Emily very much.

The entire set-up was difficult for the eldest daughter, Hannah. Hannah, no matter how hard she tried, didn't like Emily.

Although Hannah shared her mom's sentiments regarding Emily, the latter expected her kids to be respectful. However, to help Hannah cope, the woman made her undergo counseling to work her way through her jealousy towards her stepmom.

One day, Hannah went to her mom crying. She admitted that while she was at her dad's house over the weekend, he punished her for doing something to Emily's toothbrush.

What Did Jason Make Hannah Do?

Jason found Hannah dumping Emily's toothbrush in the toilet. Initially, Jason joked that it was funny and asked to see the toothbrush.

At this point, Hannah was okay. She watched as her dad scrubbed the toilet with the toothbrush and thought they would prank Emily together.

However, when he was done scrubbing, Hannah was horrified to discover her dad had other plans. Jason told her daughter to brush her teeth with the filthy toothbrush.

The woman was in disbelief. Although she knew her daughter was wrong, she couldn't accept that her ex-husband chose to do that to his daughter.

After hearing about the situation, the woman couldn't get the image of her daughter crying and gagging out of her head. To make matters worse, Hannah had to tell Emily what she did and was forced to do chores to earn money to buy a new toothbrush.

"I'm fine with that," the woman admitted. "But actually making her [put] it in her mouth pissed me off."

What Did the Woman Do About It?

The woman was the first to admit that her feelings towards her ex-husband might not have only been about what he did to Hannah. She feels he's changed since meeting Emily, and it was difficult for the woman to constantly see him gush over his thirty-year-old wife.

After the revelation from Hannah, the woman called her ex-husband at one in the morning to scold him. She could tell him from his voice that the call woke him up, and he had to process getting yelled at so early in the morning.

"I told him how selfish he is and how he puts Emily before our kids," the woman revealed. A part of her knew she was motivated by her feelings, but she also knew her husband needed to know how she felt about his chosen punishment.

After posting about the situation online, people urged the mom to file a police report against her ex-husband. The mom also booked a therapy session for the daughter to unpack her feelings over what happened.

Through it all, the mom remained conflicted. Her daughter was upset that she went to the police because Hannah didn't want Jason to lose his visitation rights.

Jason's family also accused the woman of being an irresponsible mother, blowing up her phone and insisting they raised Jason right. Jason's mom told the woman she hoped Jason and Emily could save the two kids from ending up like their mother.

Ultimately, the woman spoke to a social worker who said the incident wouldn't be enough for Jason to lose custody. However, the woman is sure she wants her ex-husband to be punished for what he did to their daughter.
