Simone Biles' husband, Jonathan Owens, came to her defense after a fan accused her of "rude" behavior online. The couple are newlyweds as they married earlier this year.

Biles and Owens tied the knot in April 2023 in a civil ceremony at the Harris County Courthouse in Houston, Texas. However, they officially exchanged vows in Cabo, Mexico, in a ceremony attended by 144 guests.

In May 2023, the decorated gymnast reportedly explained to a fan why she and her beloved husband had two ceremonies for their wedding, saying:

Biles' Husband Defends Her Against Online User

Most recently, a makeup store employee took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and claimed that Biles was once hostile in her presence and even refused to take a picture while at the store.

Biles' spouse, Owens, reposted the posts of the said individual on his social media on September 28, 2023, and called out the woman about the stated incident – which reportedly occurred before the pair wed.

The football star, who was with Biles then, first clarified that what the woman said was inaccurate, writing, "Spreading lies on the internet is crazy. It's okay for her to deny a picture."

Owens explained that it is normal for famous people to want to do their shopping "in peace," adding that if his now-wife stopped for a photo, other people would have kept following them and would not have let them be.

Minutes later, the Green Bay Packers star shared screenshots of the social media user's initial post and wrote, "Here's what was said for context since their tweets are private now, I'm not going for that, I don't play about my baby."

The X user was answering a question about worst celebrity interactions when she revealed her co-worker's daughter, who did gymnastics, asked Biles for a photo with her, and the seven-time Olympic medalist allegedly said no, and that the child was only four years old, so she barely knew who she was.

The store employee further penned that Biles was "rude" to other employees at the store, explaining that they tried to offer her some help as they do with other customers, but she reportedly asked whether she was stupid.

However, the unidentified woman mentioned that Owens was a lot nicer to them at the store and even apologized on her famous wife's behalf.

In a separate post, the NFL star reportedly stated he had never heard his spouse speak to anybody else in the manner she was accused of, especially to someone who had asked for a picture. He slammed the user for trying to paint her in a bad light and described his beloved as "the sweetest person in the world," adding:

Biles Makes World Championships

The online debacle comes at a busy time in Owens and Biles' lives. He is reportedly enjoying a fresh start with his new team, Green Bay, following four seasons with the Houston, Texas.

Meanwhile, Biles is off in Belgium, competing in the World Championships. This is the sixth time the sportswoman has made the national team, which is a record breaker.

It comes a month after the Ohio native won a record eighth U.S. Gymnastics title. Biles came first at the U.S. Women's Artistic World Championships and Pan American Games Selection camp in Texas on September 19, 2023. She won in the final rotation when she scored higher on vault.

Biles returned to gymnastics at the U.S. Classic in August 2023 following a two-year hiatus since the Tokyo Olympics – where she backed out of several events in the competition.

The much-beloved athlete had experienced "the twisties" at the Olympics, which occur when a gymnast loses control of their body while twisting mid-air and could result in severe injury. Biles endured that experience while battling mental health and decided to withdraw from the all-around competition.
