Haley Lu Richardson's Parents Are 'Creative Weirdos' – Facts about Them

Haley Lu Richardson's parents remained a strong presence since her breakout role in the second season of "White Lotus" made her an Internet sensation. She has a great appreciation for their unconventional ways.

Forrest Richardson and Valerie Richardson, née Valiquette, have been together for over four decades and are very supportive of their only daughter, Haley Lu Richardson. They are both in creative professions.

Valerie temporarily moved with her daughter to California from Arizona to follow the teenager's performing ambitions. The "Love at First Sight" actress is all over her father's Instagram grid from the outings they have been on together.

Haley Lu Richardson's Parents Are Her 'Best Friends'

During a train ride through the Grand Canyon, the Richardson couple enthralled a little girl traveling with her grandparents. The cute interaction inspired them to name their daughter Haley after the toddler.

The Richardsons marked 42 years together in February 2023. Haley shared a tender carousel of pictures with her parents in mid-2021. In the opening slide, Valerie and Forrest are sharing a kiss. She wrote in the caption:

"These my best friends (sic)."

As a teen, Haley had an "itching inside" her to get going with her performance career. The young actress dropped out of high school at 16, which she finished online, and moved to Los Angeles with her mother.

Valerie's posters form part of the U.S. Library of Congress's permanent collection.

"You can think I'm nuts," she said. "But it's just some feeling that I had that I went with, and luckily, my parents are also really unconventional, creative weirdos. So they respected that and trusted that what I was feeling was valid and went along with it."

Valerie Richardson Is an Acclaimed Creative

When Haley was invited to her first fashion show, Diesel's Fall 2023 collection, she asked her mom to fly to Italy with her. After their fashion week obligations, the mother-daughter duo did a tour of Lake Como.

A former graphic designer, Valerie is her husband's firm, Forrest Richardson Golf Course Architects, as an operations director, overseeing strategic operations. Previously, she worked in education, market research, finance, and graphic design.

Her graphic design was featured in publications internationally and in the Graphic Design USA book. Several of Valerie's posters form part of the U.S. Library of Congress's permanent collection. The artist's social media is set to private.

Forrest Richardson Is an 'Example' for His Daughter Haley Lu Richardson

Forrest graduated from the design program at Phoenix College in 1980 and studied golf course architecture in Scotland. Haley Lu Richardson wrote on her father's birthday in April 2015:

"I am beyond lucky to have this hero, example, and weirdo as my dad."

Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Forrest's firm has worked on golf courses nationwide, from Alaska to Wyoming and internationally. One of his "proudest honors" was serving a term as American Society of Golf Course Architects president.

After attending the season two premiere of "White Lotus," in which Haley played the assistant of Jennifer Coolidge's character, Richardson praised the cast, crew, and writing team. He singled out the show's creator, Mike White, for proving "good content sells."
