10 Different Types of Grandmas
Some grandmothers may be gentle and nurturing, while others are more outgoing and adventurous. Nevertheless, they all have a sweet spot for their little angels.
Like parents, grandmothers also have different personalities and ways of treating their grandchildren. They often do not treat their grandkids the same way they nurtured their kids.
Some grandmothers can be the sweetest and most loving second mothers, while others are more focused on their lives rather than others. Here are ten different types of grandmas, some of which may be familiar to you.

The Very Grandmother-like Grandma
Also known as second parents, the grandmother-like grandma embodies qualities that make for a warm and memorable childhood. This grandmother would love to spend time with and care for her grandchildren, especially when the parents are busy working.
She showers her grandkids affectionately and spoils them with the best food. This kind of grandmother could never get enough; saying goodbye is the hardest part.

The Grandma Who Returned to Her Prime Years
After caring for her own children for years, this grandmother is making it clear that she is getting her own life back – living her best for herself. Undoubtedly, she loves her grandchildren, but babysitting is not a task she would regularly enjoy. She will set aside scheduled time to spend with her grandkids but never commit to frequent childcare.
However, because time with her little ones is not as often, visits are more fun and memorable. She doesn't feel like a solution to having any babysitter, and so enjoys every moment spent with her descendants.

The "Rules Don't Exist" Grandma
Before becoming a grandmother, the "rules don't exist" grandma probably had her reservations and rules with her children. However, she has since forgotten them. Her primary goal is to spoil her grandchildren and ensure they feel loved, cared for, and comfortable.
This kind of grandmother has her fridge stuffed with candies and chocolates, ready for when her grandchildren arrive. When things go south, she is the grandma who will take you up on an adventure to feel much better.

The Old-Fashioned Grandma
This grandma is one who walked straight out of a novel; the typical grandmother who is hands-on in the kitchen and likes her little ones helping her bake some cookies. She has spectacular sewing and knitting skills and will likely make a little outfit for her grandkids.
She's old-fashioned and would rather do activities than be a couch potato. Undoubtedly, this grandma will be well-loved by her grandchildren.

The Cool Grandma
Known as a rock 'n' roll grandma, this grandmother lives in her younger years and does not dress her age. She is hip, funky, and young at heart, often playing it cool with her kids and grandkids.
She often smokes and drinks—vices which her children complain about. She enjoys junk food and knows no limits when it comes to having fun. Often, she would refer to herself as a bad mother, but she makes up for her lapses by being the best with her grandchildren.

The Spoiler Grandma
This is the grandmother all materialistic grandkids would love to have. She definitely doesn't hold back from purchasing lavish gifts on an ordinary day. The spoiler grandma would do anything to see her little ones smile.
However, she is not one to change nappies, clean vomit, or do the leg work of caring for a child. Nevertheless, her love goes beyond limits.

The Wicked Storybook Grandma
This granny appears to have walked out of a storybook, but not in a good way. The wicked storybook Grandma is like the grandmother in "Hansel and Gretel" or the "Little Red Riding Hood." She is sometimes terrifying, leaving her grandchildren scared of her.
Unfortunately, this grandma doesn't fix herself much too and naturally always looks mad. However, that doesn't mean she does not like being with her grandchildren. She enjoys whatever time she has with them despite their nervousness around her.

The grandmother everyone one day hopes to be is someone close to her grandchildren. She is loving, understanding, and caring but does not overstep her duties as a grandparent.
She loves unconditionally but will also not tolerate bad behavior. She will impart incredible life lessons to her grandkids as she did to her children.
