Blogger, author, and TV personality Ree Drummond recently took to her Instagram page to wish her foster son, Jamar, a happy 21st birthday. The TV personality shared four sets of photos, with the first slide being a photo of Jamar.

The rest were sweet photos of Jamar and her biological sons. In addition to the photos, the proud mother offered a touching tribute to Jamar, conveying her immense pride in him and her anticipation of what the future holds for him.

Fans' Reactions to Photos of Ree's Foster Son

Ree's post attracted many comments from fans, with many sharing their sweet reactions to Ree's foster son. One fan wrote, "He looks like he has a heart of gold! Happy Birthday 🎂🎉." Someone else commented, "He sure loves his people, and these pics really show it! Happy birthday, Jamar!"

Another curious fan inquired if Jamar was indeed Ree's son, as they had not spotted him in her television appearances or shows. The fan wrote, "Happy. Birthday, @pioneerwoman is this your son? Just wondering cause I haven't seen him on your shows."

Ree's Foster Son's Story Unveiled in Her Book

Ree first revealed news about having a foster son through her book, "Frontier Follies." In 2020, she offered a special preview of the book on her blog, which included details about Jamar.

She clarified that she did not discuss Jamar publicly in her book because of the strict rules from the state agency responsible for fostering regarding the posting of foster children on social media. Additionally, she expressed her protective instincts for Jamar, wanting to respect his preferences regarding attention and privacy.

She further elaborated that she decided to share information about Jamar approximately one and a half years after he became a part of their family.

She explained the move came after Jamar turned 18 and the state agency's restrictions no longer applied. Additionally, she explained that she decided to introduce Jamar to the world because he was okay with her sharing information about him. She also stated that Jamar was "tired of feeling" like she was hiding him from the world.

Ree and her husband, Ladd Drummond, had never considered fostering a kid. However, Jamar's circumstances presented themselves in a way they couldn't ignore.

In her blog, Ree explained how Jamar arrived at their house one afternoon with his luggage ready to move in. She explained that it was her husband's idea to have Jamar live with them as he and their sons had met him several times.

As per the Pioneer Woman, Jamar has become an integral part of the Drummond family. Ree affectionately characterized him as a person with a great sense of humor and intelligence, excelling both academically and in everyday life.
