Jennifer Has Two Sisters & Credits One of Them for Her Success
Jennifer has two sisters and is the middle child. In August 2022, the four-time Emmy Award nominee shared a throwback picture from her childhood featuring her and her two siblings, Susannah and their big sister, Melissa Garner. She captioned the Instagram post:
"The best thing that ever happened to me was growing up between my sisters. #NationalMiddleChildDay.”
In the snapshot, the Garner sisters could be seen posing in a boat, flashing their big smiles while looking at the camera. Jennifer has always been proud of their sisterhood. Speaking candidly about being the middle child in an October 2023 interview, she revealed:
"Being the middle sister of these three girls is the relationship that defines me more than anything else. More than being my kids' mother, I'm first and foremost the middle Garner girl."
The siblings constantly communicate, thanks to their beloved mother, Patricia Garner. The mother of three revealed that she and her daughters often communicate on the phone. "If they miss each other, I get them caught up," Patricia once shared.
Being a show business star, Jennifer also includes her loved ones when celebrating her career achievements. In August 2018, the Texas native invited her sisters to her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. Donning navy-colored dresses, the three sisters posed for pictures, their resemblance to each other evident.
Jennifer's three children, daughters Violet and Seraphina, and son Samuel—whom she shares with her former husband, Ben Affleck—were also in attendance. The trio dressed casually for the event. The "Elektra" star's parents, including her father, William Garner, were also there to cheer her on.
Jennifer posed with her parents and sisters at the ceremony, which took place in California. She stood in between her mom and dad while her sisters were on each side of them as they posed for the family photo.

Not only do Melissa and Susannah support Jennifer attending public events, but they have also been on a live interview with her. The trio appeared on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" in November 2003. The siblings were photographed sharing a laugh on the couch as Melissa and Susannah sported matching outfits while Jennifer wore a blue blouse with black pants.

Six years later, the mother of three revealed how much sisterhood has impacted her life and her showbiz career, too. In a May 2009 interview, the "13 Going on 30" star divulged that she has her older sister Melissa to thank for her success:
"If I'm totally honest, I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for the fact that I have this bigger-than-life, incredible older sister."

Jennifer described her sibling as "beautiful" and spoke highly of her capabilities. "She was valedictorian, got 1600 on her SATs, and was the head majorette," the award-winning star explained.
Being the middle child who wanted attention, Jennifer believes this is what became her driving force that fueled her desire to do the things that Melissa was not doing at the time.

Jennifer was born to an English teacher mother and a chemical engineer father. At one point, she wanted to follow in her dad's footsteps and majored in chemistry at Denison University.
However, she later switched to a drama degree, leaving her family stunned. Jennifer explained she realized she was more drawn to drama than science and even considered launching a career in theater.
Jennnifer did not even consider being in films or television. Nonetheless, the brunette beauty studied at the National Theater Institute in Waterford, Connecticut, and later relocated to New York City, where she was paid $150 weekly as a theater understudy.
Of her fate, Jennifer admitted, "I certainly never expected to be in front of a camera one day of my life." She was all about the stage life, but life had other plans as she was offered a TV movie, and she accepted the offer. By 2009, she said she loved her job.
