Houston restaurateur Thy Mitchell and her husband, Matthew Mitchell, appeared to have built the perfect hospitality success story. Together, they opened popular restaurants, traveled the world, and even landed a feature on Guy Fieri's hit Food Network show.

One ex-worker told The U.S. Sun that Thy was known for being warm, approachable, and deeply respected by staff members.

"Thy was an amazing woman," the former employee said. "She was so friendly and well-loved by all her employees. A good kind-hearted woman who was doing amazing things in the community."

According to the former worker, Matthew came across very differently.

"They always seemed like the perfect couple," the ex-worker said. "Matt was not as friendly as Thy."

The former employee described him as "a little awkward" and said he "didn't like too much spotlight." The source also told the outlet that Matthew could become "easily agitated," though they stressed they never witnessed violent behavior.

Thy Mitchell's Final Instagram Vlog

But amid the tributes and shock, another detail makes the tragedy feel even more devastating: Thy's final Instagram post.
