Somers Health Concerns
Somers was diagnosed with cancer many years ago and suffered the disease in many forms. Recently, the family announced that her breast cancer was back, and she was fighting it away from the spotlight.

However, in 2020, Somers suffered another health issue. Somers had a fall, which caused her mobility issues. Hamel tended to those when he noticed something else may have been wrong.

She took some time to recover, and when Hamel checked on her a few days before her death this year, he knew something was wrong. He noticed she was not eating or taking her medication like she used to. Days later, she passed away.

Hamel and Somers met on the "Anniversary Show" set after Somers divorced her first husband. Hamel approached Somers, and she took an instant liking to him. They were together ever since.
Now that Hamel is on his own following Somers' death, he says their family has rallied around him. He even joked:
"They haven't told me this, but I think there was a plan, 'Make sure he's not alone,' and I love that."
Although Somers had been unresponsive for a while, Hamel said that three days before her death she seemed to be doing better. However, things took a turn once more, and she died holding her husband's hand. Rest in peace to an acting legend.
