Frances and Riley, who have been dating since January 2021, reportedly had a low-key wedding in Los Angeles on October 7, 2023, soon after they obtained a marriage license in San Diego County in September.
Musician and former R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe was said to have officiated the wedding. Interestingly, Stipe is also the godfather of the bride.
Although they don't publicize their relationship as much, Frances has posted glimpses of her thoughts on Instagram that shed light into her life.
Previously, she revealed that 2021, the year she and Riley got together, had been a year that "brought [her] more into the present moment than [she has] ever been." During that time, she steered clear of social media, which helped her spiritual, emotional, and mental health
In 2022, she hoped to "bask in the present moment with reverence, shower the people I am lucky enough to love with more appreciation than words could ever do justice."
Frances was previously married to The Eeries frontman Isaiah Silva. Their short-lived marriage began in June 2014 and ended when she filed for divorce in March 2016.
During their divorce proceedings, Frances claimed she would consider paying Silva in spousal support. However, she did not want her father's reported $450 million estate touched. The former husband and wife ended up having a legal battle for the custody of Kurt's guitar.
Isaiah Silva alleged that he was given Kurt's millions-worth customized guitar as a gift during their wedding and that he was the rightful owner. Following their divorce, Silva continued to hurt the Cobain family's reputation with several allegations.
