Isaiah Silva Is Frances Bean Cobain's Ex-husband: Inside His Life and Divorce from Kurt Cobain’s Daughter

Frances Bean Cobain was born in 1992, a few months after her famous parents, "Nirvana" band frontman Kurt Cobain and "Hole" lead singer Courtney Love, married.

Lovers of their music would remember that the all-time favorite rock legend, Kurt, ended his life two years after becoming a father, leaving his young wife, an only child, and a big shoe to fill.

Despite his achievements, his daughter only grew to appreciate his long-lasting legacy and did not toe the same career path. Frances became a visual artist, model, and producer who worked on a documentary centered on the deceased's life.

While Frances believes she is very different from her dad, there is a similarity in their stories; they were married for two years!

Kurt's marriage to a fellow singer was from 1992 to 1994, following his death. His only child also married a musician, Isaiah Silva, in 2014, and their marriage was short-lived, ending in 2016.

What came after the split was a messy lawsuit involving the former couple and Frances's mom, Love. Silva initiated the court visits, which made the headlines due to his demands and accusations.

FRANCES BEAN COBAIN'S EX-HUSBAND IS ISAIAH SILVA

Silva is a 37-year-old skilled guitarist and musician passionate about performing on stage with a band. He was formerly a band member of The Rambles until it was dissolved.

He later created The Eeries, bearing in mind that it would serve as a songwriting platform. However, as time passed, he shared some of his works with buddies, including three other music-oriented men.

While it would have been a victory for Kurt's only child, as her former husband had no share in her dad's estate, she had to part with a family heirloom; a 1959 Martin D-18E acoustic guitar.

It soon became a band when drummer Nadir Maraschin, guitarist Brandon Sweeney and bassist Eliot Lorango matched his ideas.

In 2014, the band released an EP, "Cool Kid." Their song was played on KROQ, a famous LA radio station, and the crew was signed to Interscope Records. They also performed on "Late Night with Seth Meyers."

Although this group is yet to witness mainstream success, its Instagram page shows that they have loyal fans. According to their videos and pictures, they have performed on various stages and even toured some states.

Besides his music career, Silva is also a father to a preteen daughter named Arlo. He shares custody with her mother, Jessica Sullivan, whom he dated long ago.

While he is a father-of-one and a singer, what many know him as is the ex-husband of Kurt's only child. As noted earlier, the duo were married for two years, and their marriage did not produce any child.

ISAIAH SILVA'S MARRIAGE TO FRANCES BEAN COBAIN ENDED BADLY

Silva and Frances dated for five years before their wedding ceremony. Sources confirmed that Frances planned it for a year and eventually narrowed her guests to 13/15. Shockingly, the invited persons did not include her mom. According to an insider:

"Courtney loves Isaiah but was devastated to learn that Frances had gotten married without her knowing... Courtney is sad she wasn't at the wedding."

The source added that Love was happy for her child and that they spoke after the event. Contrary to what many would have thought, the daughter and mother were in a good place in their relationship.

However, Frances's marriage did not last as long as expected. In March 2016, she filed for divorce from her husband. The following year, she was declared single by the court.

Following the end of their marriage, the pair engaged in a bitter lawsuit. Frances accused her ex-husband of being abusive, and she wanted him to go away.

She also requested that the money from her father's estate, estimated at $450million, remain in the family. The documents stated that every premarital asset should be in Frances's possession, awarded to her as separate property.

Silva alleged that the visual artist gave him her dad's customized guitar worth millions, as a gift, during their marriage. He maintained that he owned the property, and eventually, the court granted him ownership.

Close sources to the family stated that Frances "forfeited her late father's guitar to Isaiah in hopes he would just go away" following "years of psychological and, substance and emotional abuse."

But it didn't end there; The Eerie band creator charged the family with another lawsuit, despite having the guitar. An insider revealed that Silva's continuous harassment was because he was obsessed with the deceased. The person revealed:

"[Silva] will stop at nothing to try and gain possession of Kurt's belongings…it is our belief he thinks he is a reincarnation of Kurt, he tries to look like him and dress like him."

ISAIAH ACCUSED COURTNEY LOVE OF TRYING TO KILL HIM

Following the settlement, Silva accused his mother-in-law, Courtney Love, of attempted murder. He claimed she conspired to kill him to regain possession of Kurt's priced guitar.

The singer sued his former mother-in-law, her manager, Sam Lutfi, actor Ross Butler, a musician, Michael Schenk, and PI, John Nazarian.

He explained that they tried to intimidate him after breaking into his West Hollywood home. Silva accused them of kidnapping, sexual battery, and threats.

According to him, they assaulted his mother and terrorized his daughter. The Eerie musician also revealed how Lutfi supplied illegal drugs to Love and her daughter.

The defendant refused to issue any statement concerning the allegations at the time, and it was unclear what Silva was requesting following the lawsuit. However, later, Love maintained:

"I never conspired with anyone else to murder or kidnap Silva or take possession of the guitar."

In March 2022, the pair settled, but the plaintiff asked the Los Angeles Superior Court Judge, Armen Tamzarian, for a final signature. The agreement between both parties remains discreet.
