A man's girlfriend of three years wanted to eat at a restaurant that she previously worked in. After a couple of minutes, the man decided to end their date night early because he found her behavior disrespectful.

A man and his girlfriend of three years decided to go on a date at a restaurant where the woman had previously worked. He didn't think much of his partner's choice of restaurant, as she might have felt nostalgic.

However, the night ended on a sour note when the man felt it was best to leave without his girlfriend. He felt she was being completely insensitive and disrespectful.

Wondering whether what he did was wrong, the man took to Reddit to seek other people's opinions. He wasn't sure whether it had been appropriate to leave, even though he had felt totally ignored.

The Woman Bumped Into Past Co-Workers

As the couple settled into the restaurant, one of the servers recognized the man's girlfriend. They had a quick chat, and the man didn't mind it.

He waited for his girlfriend to include him in the conversation, but she never did. He let it pass the first time because he didn't think it would happen again.

After a while, though, another girl recognized his girlfriend, and they ended up talking for at least ten minutes. Again, his girlfriend and the woman didn't include him in the conversation even though they were clearly on a date.

Unfazed, the man kept his emotions under wraps, as he didn't want to ruin their night. Instead, he waited for their conversation to end.

Finally, the man thought they were done with all the interruptions. They could finally have their date night and enjoy their orders. However, a third person, the manager, interrupted them once again. At this point, the poster had had enough.

The Man Had Enough of the Disrespect

What was supposed to be a casual greeting turned into a lengthy discussion, leaving the man feeling discarded and ignored. For the third time, they did not include him in the conversation and spoke for at least 20 minutes.

Not only did his girlfriend not introduce him to any of her previous co-workers, but she also seemed not to pick up his silent glances, hinting that he was feeling uncomfortable.

The man could no longer contain his emotions. With a mixture of disappointment and frustration, he told his girlfriend he felt neglected and that she was being disrespectful.

The night came to an unexpected end when he said they should cut the date night short. The man knew for a fact that his girlfriend realized he was angry, yet she kept talking to the manager as if nothing had happened.

"I just ended our date early and told her that she was being really disrespectful and went home," the man ended his story.

The situation left Reddit users torn. Some felt the author was wrong for leaving his girlfriend at the restaurant, while others supported his decision.

"You've been dating 3 years and can't handle one night out where things are a bit different than expected because a lot of people recognized her? Just don't go on dates to that restaurant next time. How dramatic to call it disrespectful," one user wrote.

"Wholeheartedly disagreed. It’s extremely rude bordering on cruel to have a conversation with somebody and ignore and not even introduce your partner," another chimed in.

"If you go out with someone, it’s not okay to disregard them and carry on with other people for extended periods of time. It’s not like it was a short conversation, it was multiple times for a long period of time. Doubly rude if op was paying for the date," a user said.

In another restaurant horror story, a woman's fiancé demanded she pay for his and his friends' meals. She decided to sneak out of the restaurant to teach him a lesson.
