When Beyoncé found out about the pregnancy, which was unexpected, she was scheduled to headline the 2017 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. "And it ended up being twins, which was even more of a surprise," said the singer. She gave birth to Rumi and Sir in June 2017; by then, she weighed 218 lbs.

Beyoncé's delivery was also challenging. "In the womb, one of my babies' hearts paused a few times so I had to get an emergency C-section," she revealed.

The businesswoman spent several weeks in the NICU with her newborns, but luckily, she had the support of her husband, rapper Jay-Z. Following the major operation, the "End of Time" singer revealed that her core felt different. However, she had time to recover in six months.

After giving birth, Beyoncé had to put her focus on her Coachella performance, and it became a significant obstacle because the pregnancy took its toll on her body.

Beyoncé disclosed that she struggled with choreography. She could not express her personality thoroughly because she was not herself. "I had to rebuild my body from cut muscles," the entertainer explained, adding it took a while to get back to her usual self, personality-wise. She longed to be with her kids most of the time instead of preparing for the show.

The songwriter admitted it was "hard" going back on stage after welcoming her twins, adding there were some days when she felt like she would never be the same again. She doubted she could regain her strength and endurance and be physically able.

Her body changed, and she revealed in August 2018 that she embraced the fact that she got curvier. Up until that point, her body had endured significant change.
