The doting grandmother also had to defend herself from people who slammed her for paying such a significant amount for a cake in the first place. She defended herself, saying she wanted something special for her granddaughter's milestone birthday.

"Don't ever let someone shame you for wanting a big [expletive] cake for a one year old. That's a milestone birthday! And it builds memories. And it's your [money]," one supporter wrote.
