‘That’s Who?’: Carrie Underwood ‘Looks So Different’ in New Photo & Fans Theorize about Her Change in Appearance
Carrie Underwood's fans claim not to recognize her in a new photo shared by Miranda Lambert. They began theorizing her change in appearance, with one commenting that it was because of the work she had done to her face.
Miranda Lambert shared a photo with her good friend Carrie Underwood while at the Velvet Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada. Rather than the iconic duo's presence, people focused on Underwood's appearance in the said picture.
The country star's fans didn't recognize her initially until they read Lambert's caption. They felt something was different about her face, but they couldn't pinpoint it.
"Am I the only one who had to scroll in to see if it was Carrie?? She looks so different here," one fan noted. "Carrie looks so different I didn’t recognize her at first," another fan agreed. "That's who?" one fan asked in disbelief. "I didn't know who she was until I read what Miranda wrote," a user said.
People then began theorizing what happened to Carrie's face. When one pointed out that it was her facial structure, another felt her straight hair might be why she looked different. However, one fan commented, "It's all the work she's had done to her face."
Underwood herself admitted to feeling as if she looked different back in 2018. She suffered a freak accident in November of the previous year, which resulted in the singer getting over 40 stitches on her face.
It took a while for the singer to come back from the accident. Not only was she physically in pain, but she had to come to terms with it emotionally as well.
Part of her recovery process included having to have facial reconstruction. In a lengthy, honest letter to her fans, Underwood said she was grateful for the support and being alive despite everything.
Underwood's shocking statement came from a post to her fan club members, which eventually made rounds online. Years later, Underwood continues to deal with the effects of her accident at home.
