Mama June's Daughter Anna's Final Moments Revealed before She Died at 29

Mama June Shannon's daughter, Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell, passed away on December 9, 2023. She put on a brave face in front of the family, but when it was only her and her husband, Eldridge Toney, left, she became more vulnerable.

On December 9, 2023, 29-year-old Anna Cardwell passed away at her mother, June Shannon's, home. In the days leading up to her death, Anna was surrounded by her family, who all showed their love and support.

Cardwell, too, showed unwavering strength and resilience amidst her final moments, especially when her family was around. Shannon shared the devastating news on Instagram, announcing her daughter's peaceful death after a ten-month battle against her illness.

"She gave one hell of a fight for 10 months she passed away with her family around her like she won't and we will will be updating y'all with more information as we get it today [sic]," Shannon said.

Following her passing, Cardwell's husband, Eldridge Toney, shared that his wife "didn't show a lot of emotion" as she remained "super strong for the family."

The reality star kept it together amidst suffering from lower back pain from her stage 4 adrenal carcinoma. "But when it was just the two of us, it was hard not to break down," he added.

Anna Cardwell was open about her diagnosis and shared glimpses of her journey online, including a photo after three rounds of chemotherapy. Around that time, Anna revealed that her chemo was going well and things were going great. She also had the best support system through her husband.

Cardwell and Toney's love story began in 2017 after she divorced her then-husband, Michael Cardwell. A few years later, on March 4, 2023, they tied the knot in Wilkinson County, Georgia. Their nuptials happened after Cardwell learned of her illness, as they knew their time together was ticking.

Mama June's daughter is survived by her husband and two daughters, Kylee Madison and Kaitlyn Elizabeth, from previous relationships. Toney assumed the role of a father to his wife's two girls, saying, "I promised Anna I would do right by them and make sure they remembered their mama, and that is what I will do."
