The social media user told readers how he and his long-term girlfriend met. He said they got acquainted in middle school, seeing as she's originally from Tennessee and moved to Michigan with her family at 12.

The original poster (OP) had a crush and couldn't stop trying to get her attention in class. He said the reason was that he thought her accent was "very cute." The pair ended up dating and even went to the same college. When schools closed, the couple decided to take a trip.

What Went Wrong during the Couple's Trip?

Before their classes picked up again on the tenth, the couple decided to drive down to Tennessee from the second and would stay there until the seventh. They drove down in OP's car and had a fantastic time visiting some excellent Tennessee sites, and his girlfriend even showed him the town she and her family lived in before they relocated.

On the fifth, the couple was staying at a hotel, and that night, OP noticed that some other man was texting his girlfriend on Snapchat while she slept. He responded by taking a photo of his girlfriend's arm and pretending she was awake so the other guy would continue chatting, leading the stranger to say:

"He was thinking of her and asking when she was getting back."

OP, continuing to pretend he was his girlfriend, said she was returning on the tenth and asked the man what he wanted to do when she arrived. The stranger revealed he had a couple of ideas in mind and included a winking face.

OP then requested some "revealing photos" to ensure he was "doing stuff" with his girlfriend, and the man sent proof almost immediately before asking if the favor would be returned. What OP saw had him livid, and he couldn't help but wake up his girlfriend with shouting.

Initially, she was in shock and denied cheating, but she eventually confessed to her talking to the guy but promised that they'd never gone further than that. OP told her their five-year relationship was done, and he started crying and losing his mind.

He told her he would sleep in the car to avoid them getting kicked out of the hotel because of a noise complaint and left. OP spent an hour thinking and ignoring his girlfriend's texts and calls before deciding to drive back home.
