Besides her showbiz brother, Oliver Hudson, Kate Hudson has siblings that she doesn't talk to because of their separated families and different lives. "I had this moment last year where I was like, 'I don't know why I don't talk to my other siblings,'" the actress revealed.

Fortunately, she and her two sisters got in touch over the phone again and broke into tears over the whole situation. "We just started bawling," she said of their memorable reconnection. That moment became a starting point for a new relationship between siblings.

Kate and Oliver's father, Bill Hudson, previously claimed that their mother, Goldie Hawn, had ruined his image in the children's eyes. Since their separation, she reportedly painted a picture of Bill abandoning his children, a claim he vehemently denied.

However, in 2015, Bill allowed a candid interview, where he announced the end of his relationship with Kate and Oliver. Enraged with emotions of anger and sadness, he cut ties with his eldest kids and stopped recognizing them as his own. "I would ask them to stop using the Hudson name," he said. They are no longer a part of my life."

Bill's decision was fueled by his children's Instagram posts, which deeply hurt him. Alongside a throwback photo with his dad and sister, Oliver wrote, "Happy abandonment day," in his Instagram share.

Days later, Kate posted a touching Instagram photo on Father's Day expressing love for her mother's life partner, referring to Kurt Russell as her "Pa."

Years later, in 2021, Kate publicly reflected on her thoughts about her dad and other siblings in "The Ball Drop" podcast, providing an update on her feelings and the ongoing process of reconciliation. "I was thinking about how everybody's getting older," she said, adding that it would be nice to connect with her sisters again.

Reconciliation is undoubtedly no easy feat, especially when it involves deep pain and trauma. However, Kate serves as a reminder that families can reconnect under challenging circumstances.
