Burgeoning director Malia Obama was recently spotted during a hike through the Hollywood Hills. Photos showed her adorning a gorgeous fiery hairstyle and an athletic silhouette.

Malia Ann Obama recently enjoyed a sunny afternoon hike with a friend in the Hollywood Hills. The 25-year-old daughter of former President of the United States (POTUS) Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama had her vibrant red hair and toned figure on display.

Her outfit—perfect for physical activity—included a stylish black sports bra and leggings. She paired her ensemble with black sneaker boots, sunglasses, and a light green cardigan rolled up to her elbows.

Social media users have shared comments online expressing what they think about Malia's sporty look. "She forgot her clothes," wrote one user while another criticized, "Far from gorgeous...."

Despite the harsh critique from some, supporters showered Malia with compliments. "I love it! She looks great," gushed an admirer.

Another fan praised, "Love the hair color! She looks very pretty." "I love her with red hair! Beautiful young lady!" swooned another supporter. Someone else called Malia "so pretty!"

As the eldest daughter of one of America's most beloved couples, Malia and her younger sister, Sasha Obama, have been in the spotlight several times.

The two young women have lived a significant portion of their lives directly under the public's gaze and scrutiny. Their doting mom, Michelle, previously spoke to this in a past interview.

"They survived eight years growing up in one of the harshest spotlights there is," stated Michelle. The "Becoming" author also described her girls as "good, decent, normal young women who are trying to be impactful in the world, and [...] are the best of friends."

Additionally, the "proud" mom recalled how they once hosted her and Barack in their shared Los Angeles apartment. The young women served their parents drinks and appetizers before a family dinner.

Similar to how Michelle shared details about their beloved daughters, doting dad Barack has also spoken about Malia and Sasha. In a 2015 interview, Barack sang his daughters' praises.

He said, "My daughters are amazing girls. They’re smart, they’re funny. They take after their mom, and Michelle’s done a great job with them." The former POTUS also talked about the challenges and joys of raising his daughters, noting how their lives became busy.

"They love you, but what I think really affects you most is they just don't have time for you [...] It's just their calendars start filling up and they've got all these friends who are much more interesting," explained Barack.

This same busy schedule included Malia's voyage to Harvard a few years ago. Before heading off to Harvard, Michelle Obama previously shared some words of wisdom she gave to Malia.

"Don’t wind up on Page Six," Michelle advised. Although she later expressed, "I don’t know if she managed that," because Malia Obama was then photographed at trendy New York spots like Up&Down, Happy Ending, and Montauk’s Surf Lodge.

The young director and screenwriter, born on July 4, 1998, with a middle name honoring Barack's mother, who passed away in 1995 from ovarian cancer at the age of 52, dropped her famous last name.

In her latest film, "The Heart," where she is credited as director and screenwriter, Malia chose to go by her stage name, Malia Ann. She made an appearance on the red carpet at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival earlier this month for the premiere of the movie.

Despite her famous family, one of the executive producers of "Swarm," Stephen Glover, insisted that they treated Malia just like any other member of the creative team. "We can't be easy on her just because she's the [former] President's daughter. Nah, she's very down to earth, and cool. So, it's not a problem at all," he stated.

Malia's parents can’t hide how proud they are of her. For her last birthday, they published sweet messages to support their daughter. “Happy birthday to this talented, hilarious, and beautiful young woman. Malia, I hope 25 brings you everything you’re looking for and more,” wrote Barack on his Instagram.

Michelle joined in on the congratulations, posting, “Happy birthday, Malia! I feel so lucky to be your mom and to be able to watch you become the wonderful young woman you are today. Love you so much! 💕”
