Simmons addressed his disappearance from the spotlight. "Well, when I decided to retire, it was because my body told me I needed to retire. I have spent time just reflecting on my life. All of the books I wrote, the videos. I never was like, 'Oh look what I've done.' My thing was, 'Oh, look how many people I helped,'" he explained.

Reflecting on his legacy, Simmons humbly dismissed titles like "legend" or "icon," saying, "I never lived a celebrity life. I never thought of myself as a celebrity. People don't know this, I'm really a shy person and a little bit of an introvert. But when that curtain goes up that's a different story. I'm there to make people happy."

Simmons also shared his thoughts about the changing fitness industry and his cautious stance on weight loss surgeries and drugs. "If someone's taking a shot to lose weight, that is not my business. I just hope that it helps them, you know, once you get to a certain age, weight is pretty hard to lose," he said.

Besides sharing his views on weight management treatments, he also reflected on his early days as a performer. His sense of humor helped him cope with childhood bullying, and he emphasized that he always stayed true to himself, even if some found his antics silly.
