On October 16, 2024, Paltrow and Timothée Chalamet were photographed sharing a kiss in New York City's Central Park. At one point Chalamet had his arms wrapped around Paltrow's waist. Meanwhile, the actress, whose back was against a wall, had her arms positioned on Chalamet's shoulders.

Their passionate kissing scene made waves online, with users expressing their thoughts on the age difference and questioning why they were cast as romantic leads.
One user expressed concern, "I know they are both adults, BUT she's been acting longer than he's been alive. Is this weird? Or is it me?" Another surprised fan echoed the sentiment, "The age gap is wild."

One fan couldn't help but point out the oddness, "No, looking like mother and son," while one more user cringed, "Yikes I thought we were done with alarming age gaps." A frustrated observer lamented, "Another movie about couples with an age difference, it's an epidemic!! 🦠"

Another user emphasized the age difference, "Hes [sic] 25 years younger than her. That would be a no for me kissing someone that young." Meanwhile, a thoughtful fan reflected, "Kind of weird to watch considering she's old enough to be his mom lol but they're just acting."

Yet, not all comments criticized Paltrow. One user argued about the unfairness of the criticisms, "If the roles were reversed and it was an older man kissing a younger woman, no one would have a problem. This double standard is dumb and only leads to hate and divisiveness."

Another passionate fan took a stand against the reproach, commenting, "If it was Brad Pitt Or George Clooney, Vincent Cassel with a 25 year old [sic] girl, no comment would have talked about the age of the actor, rather the charisma of the actress but when it's a woman, we read it could be her son 🤬, seriously you have to deconstruct your brain seriously."
Paltrow's upcoming movie has caught fans' attention as much as she has been away from the big screen for a few years. Her last major film role was in 2019 when she starred in the "Avengers: Endgame." In August 2024, news broke that she would be in "Marty Supreme" alongside Timothée Chalamet.
