BBC’s "The One Show" took an unexpected turn during a recent interview with Hollywood's beloved Keanu Reeves. The "John Wick" actor, usually known for his calm and collected demeanor, faced uncomfortable questions that had fans tuning in, then turning to social media to call it inappropriate.

In the episode, Alex Jones, one of the show's regular hosts, brought up Reeves' 1994 blockbuster hit, "Speed," which also starred Sandra Bullock. Jones casually asked if Reeves had enjoyed his reunion with Bullock marking the action-thriller's 30th anniversary.

Reeves responded with his characteristic charm, "That was so nice. Yeah, Sandra Bullock and I get along really well and it's always nice to see her, so it was nice to kind of hang out for a little bit."

But just as the mood seemed to lift, another presenter, Gabby Logan, interrupted with a question that many viewers deemed unprofessional. She asked, "Didn't you discover later that you could've got on even better... you both had a bit of a crush on each other on set but you didn't find out until later on that you kind of fancied each other..."

Reeves, caught off-guard, grinned and looked to the ceiling, replying with a playful acknowledgment, "Ohhhh yeah! We were very professional." His lighthearted response did little to ease the tension in the room, and the audience felt the awkwardness.

Jones chimed in, attempting to diffuse the situation, stating, "That would've been a nice couple!" Logan added, "There was great chemistry on screen anyway; it was fantastic." Yet, the attempt to keep things jovial only heightened the discomfort for some viewers.

As clips from the interview spread across social media, many fans expressed their disapproval, labeling the question as "rude." One viewer pointed out that it was "disrespectful to ask him that question when the guy has a long-term girlfriend."

Another user characterized the interview as filled with "embarrassing questions." On the brighter side, the person highlighted Reeves's charm by calling him a "lovely man and a great actor ❤️."

The backlash also targeted Logan, with comments like, "Interrupting him and then embarrassing him live? Wow. Do better." Others echoed the sentiment, stating, "Very cringy to watch as the questions are so inappropriate. Keanu answered the questions so diplomatically."

Another admirer praised Reeves, calling him "a gentleman" for his composed response. Criticism extended to the BBC itself, as some viewers lamented, "Terrible interviewing by the BBC." One user questioned, "Do Host doesn't have a fresh questions? Always the same about the 'crush'—so annoying [sic]."

In a 2018 interview on "The Ellen Show," Bullock fondly recalled filming "Speed" with Reeves, describing him as "so sweet" and undeniably "handsome."

She admitted it was sometimes hard to stay serious around him, saying, "He would look at me, and I would, like, [nervous laughter]." Reeves proved to be a considerate co-star as well.

Bullock recalled a scene where her dress kept flying up, so she told him, "Whatever you do, just keep my dress down." True to his word, Reeves ensured her dress stayed in place throughout the stunt, a gesture she found "very sweet."

Despite the on-screen chemistry, Bullock clarified that they never took it any further. "I never dated him," she shared, joking that maybe there was "something about me I guess he didn't like." She speculated that their lasting friendship might even be thanks to the fact that they kept things strictly platonic.

In 2019, Reeves appeared on "The Ellen Show" where he watched the clip of Bullock admitting she had a crush on him during their "Speed" days.

When DeGeneres asked if he'd known about Bullock's feelings, Reeves said, "No," but then confessed, "She obviously didn't know I had a crush on her either."

Reflecting on those days, Reeves described how much he enjoyed working with Bullock, calling her "a wonderful person and a wonderful actress." Despite their mutual crushes, both stars kept their feelings hidden.
