Viewers Are 'Tired' of Seeing Taylor Swift at Games – Will She Attend the Super Bowl 2025?
The singer has been a fixture at Kansas City Chiefs games for over a year, but as the team heads to Super Bowl LIX, some fans are expressing fatigue over her presence and questioning whether she will once again take center stage.
Taylor Swift has dominated headlines for a couple of NFL seasons so far, not for her music, but for her appearances in support of her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. With the Chiefs preparing to play at the Super Bowl LIX on February 9, 2025, at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, speculation swirls about whether Swift will attend.

Her Impact on the NFL
Swift's relationship with Kelce has not only sparked endless media coverage but has also drawn new viewers to the sport. The 14-time Grammy-winning singer-songwriter has been seen in luxury suites throughout the NFL season, attending multiple games, including last year's Super Bowl when the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers.
Kelce, a three-time Super Bowl champion and one of the greatest tight ends in history, has gained even more popularity due to his relationship with Swift and new fans have started to tuned in to these games.

Despite the commercial boost her presence brings, some viewers have grown weary of the constant attention on Swift during broadcasts. Many are even debating over whether she is overshadowing the game itself.
Her Plans for the Big Game
According to Kelce's brother, Jason Kelce, Swift will be attending the game to support her boyfriend and the Chiefs. In an interview on February 4, Jason confirmed that "Trav and Taylor" will be part of the festivities, alongside their family and friends.
Swift has been a familiar face at Chiefs games since September 2023 and was most recently seen celebrating with Kelce on the field after the team's AFC Championship win against the Buffalo Bills on January 26.
This year, if the Chiefs secure a victory, they will become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls, making this game even more important than last year's.

Keeping It Low-Key
While Swift's presence is confirmed, reports indicate she intends to stay out of the spotlight. A source close to the singer told The U.S. Sun that she "doesn't want to be the center of attention" and plans to arrive in New Orleans only a day or two before kickoff.
Unlike last year, when she made headlines for rushing from Tokyo to Las Vegas to watch Kelce play, the singer is now in a more relaxed position. Following a break from her grueling "Eras Tour," she is reportedly "way more rested and relaxed" heading into the game.
The source also expressed that Swift wants Kelce to have his moment. "She is dreaming about him making history and winning another Super Bowl. She has his back, just as he has hers," they added.
Skipping the Halftime Show
Given her superstar status, many people wonder why Swift has never headlined the Super Bowl Halftime Show. The reason is most likely timing.
Swift turned down the opportunity to perform at both Super Bowl LVII, explaining that she was committed to re-recording her first six albums after a controversy with her former label.
For Super Bowl LVIII, she was busy with her intense tour schedule. Furthermore, a source told the Daily Mail that Swift is "in no rush" to take on the performance and wants to do it on her own terms.
The insider also noted that Swift has "all the time in the world" and pointed out that Madonna didn't perform until she was 53. While "Shake It Off" singer is expected to headline one day, it won't be this year.
Her Presence Sparks Debate
Not everyone is thrilled about Swift's consistent NFL coverage. Fans have taken to social media to express their frustration over what they see as an excessive focus on her rather than the game itself.

"Normally I'd root for the Chiefs… not this time. Broadcasters will flood us with Taylor Swift.. I cannot stand her. Enough already [sic]," one user posted. Another fan echoed similar sentiments, "Can I just say this….. I really can't take another Taylor Swift Super Bowl. It's just gross [sic]."
Some viewers have pointed to what they perceive as an over-commercialization of the NFL, with one user stating, "Reasons I won't be watching: Goodell in bed with JZ, causing us to endure a halftime of the worst garbage ever heard; Rigged Refs ensuring a KC win; and Seeing Taylor Swift every five minutes [sic]."

Others believed there will be a drop in viewership this year, like one fan who said, "I'm predicting one of the lowest rated Super Bowls of the last decade. Also, people are sick and tired of seeing Taylor Swift and getting the updates about her outfits and every move. It's played out [sic]."
Even some longtime supporters of the singer feel her presence has altered their enjoyment of the sport. One fan admitted, "I love Taylor Swift but she's absolutely RUINED football for me. As much as it pains my NFC East heart to say this, I hope the Eagles win because I literally hate the Chiefs now because of her. Like why tf is the camera panning to her, she's not in the game [sic]."

For others, it's a combination of frustration with both the team and the attention surrounding Swift. "I'm so tired of the Chiefs and Taylor Swift [sic]," one user bluntly stated.
Another fan added, "I don't want to watch the Super Bowl this time either. I'm tired of the same teams year after year. And the fact to have to see Taylor Swift during the game is so boring [sic]."

What to Expect at Super Bowl LIX

Additionally, Jon Batiste will perform the national anthem, and Lauren Daigle and Trombone Shorty will sing "America the Beautiful." Finally, Ledisi will perform "Lift Every Voice and Sing."
With Swift set to be in attendance, her presence is sure to be a talking point throughout the event. Whether it enhances or distracts from the game remains a matter of opinion.
