Tom Holland Suffers Injury on Set of 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day'
For the star who has spent nearly a decade soaring between skyscrapers, it was a split-second off-screen that turned Hollywood's most acrobatic superhero into a hospital patient overnight.
Tom Holland, the 29-year-old face of Marvel's billion-dollar "Spider-Man" franchise, was rushed to the hospital after a shocking stunt mishap during filming of "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" in Watford, England. The blockbuster, which had been shooting at the sprawling Leavesden Studios, came to a screeching halt on Friday morning, September 19, 2025, after the incident.
A female stunt double was also injured and taken away by ambulance, leaving the cast and crew stunned as emergency services swarmed the set.

Panic on the Set as Production Suspended Indefinitely
Filming, which had been barreling ahead with an eye on July 2026's release, has now been suspended — and could remain on pause for weeks, insiders revealed. A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service confirmed:
"We were called at 10.30 am on Friday to attend to a patient who had sustained an injury at Leavesden Studios in Watford. An ambulance was sent to the scene, and the patient was transported to hospital for further care [sic]."

Health Concerns Emerge on and off the Set
It is believed Tom cracked his head during a fall and was treated for a concussion. Though details remain scarce, it is thought that the fall occurred after a stunt went wrong.
At a charity dinner in Mayfair, Tom appeared alongside his father, comedian Dominic Holland, and fiancée and co-star Zendaya, 28. He reportedly left early after feeling unwell — a detail that now carries chilling weight in hindsight.

Mystery and Fallout: Will There Be a Safety Investigation?
With a production budget topping £150 million, Marvel and Sony are staying tight-lipped — neither studio has issued a statement, despite growing speculation that the UK Health and Safety Executive could launch an investigation into what went wrong.
Meanwhile, plans for "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" had already shifted earlier this year, when producers moved filming from Liverpool to Glasgow following a horrific crash during Liverpool FC's victory parade in May that left more than 100 people injured.

Sources said the decision was made out of sensitivity to the community, with concerns about staging large-scale stunts in the city so soon after the tragedy. One source told The Sun:
"The next Spider-Man will be filmed in Glasgow in Scotland. Production has started now and locals will see Tom and his co-stars out filming on location. It's really exciting for film fans living in Glasgow as they will see their city in the next movie [sic]."

"American flags have been planted around town to make it look like New York. It's uncanny when you look at some of the buildings and streets, it looks just like the Big Apple," the source added.
What's Next for the Web-Slinger?
The British star's father, Dominic, had confirmed that his son would be stepping away from filming "for a while." However, a source close to the production told Deadline that the "Spider-Man" actor's break is precautionary and that he is expected to return to set within a few days.

Now, fans can look forward to seeing him suit back up soon. Zendaya will also be reprising her role as MJ, Jacob Batalon will be returning as Ned Leeds, and "Stranger Things" breakout Sadie Sink will be joining the cast. She is rumored to be playing X-Men character Jean Grey in a movie that would shock the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

For now, though, the set remains silent. Cameras are down, costumes are hung, and fans everywhere are sending love to Hollywood's favorite superhero as he recovers from the fall that stunned a billion-dollar franchise.
