Keith Urban's Alleged Infidelity Resurfaces amid Reported Split from Nicole Kidman After 19 Years
The infidelity allegations date back to the early 2000s, before the Hollywood couple tied the knot, but around the time they had begun building a love story that spanned 19 years of marriage.
It was the kind of secret that could shatter a fairy-tale love story — allegations of infidelity dating back to 2006, whispered just before Hollywood's golden couple said I do. Behind the glittering smiles and red-carpet perfection, a storm was brewing that would come back to haunt them nearly two decades later.
A woman once claimed she was involved in a steamy affair with country music superstar Keith Urban, even as he was falling in love with the woman who would become his wife, Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman. The accusations, shocking when they first surfaced, cast a long shadow over what was once seen as one of Hollywood's strongest marriages.

A Young Model's Explosive Allegations
Amanda Wyatt, a 23-year-old part-time model at the time and 16 years Urban's junior, made headlines in 2006 when she came forward with claims of a long-running affair with Urban — one that allegedly extended right up to the cusp of his wedding to Kidman.
"I feel sorry for Nicole," she stated plainly. "Keith cheated on her repeatedly with me, right up to just before they got married. He's done it once and [sic] he will probably do it again."
Wyatt painted a picture of a deeply conflicted man — equal parts tender and tormented — whose demons often overshadowed his charm. "Keith is a guy who has everything, but he is never truly happy," she said, adding that while he had all the makings of a star, he also carried what she said he described as a "huge gaping hole" inside him.
She recalled nights of emotional and unprotected physical intimacy, extravagant romantic gestures, deep care and affection, but also nights clouded by alcohol and drug use.

"We partied constantly," Wyatt disclosed, noting that while she didn't push him for commitment, their relationship was far from fleeting. "Everyone in Nashville knew we were together," she claimed.
Their relationship, according to Wyatt, began in 2004 after a chance encounter at a local bar and quickly grew into something more intense and complicated.
The Night That Changed Everything
"I was a fan of Keith's and longed to meet him. I was born and raised in Nashville and he was a star here long before the rest of the world heard about him through Nicole. I went to a bar called the Tin Roof one night and he was there [sic]," Wyatt revealed.
She continued, "I was with a group of girlfriends and after a couple of drinks, on a dare, I went right up to him and said: 'Hi Keith, I'm Amanda and I'm a big fan.' He just grinned. A couple of hours later [sic] I was so flattered when he came up and said: 'You're Amanda, right?'"
At one point, she even moved into the home Urban was renting and met his parents during a holiday visit. The connection, she said, went beyond physical chemistry. "We made love and he was anxious to please me. I woke up next morning to find him stroking my leg [sic]," Wyatt disclosed.
'He Used to Tell Me How Much He Missed Me Making Him Laugh': More Explosive Claims from Amanda Wyatt
"Looking back, maybe he came to Nashville and partied with me because he could do things with me he couldn't do with Nicole," Wyatt reflected.
"He was constantly telling me how beautiful I was [...] He used to tell me how much he missed me making [sic] him laugh," she recounted at another point during her reflections. Wyatt even divulged how Urban would tell her he loved her and found joy in how youthful she made him feel.

Despite the emotional closeness she described, Wyatt said she was never under any illusion about her place in his life. "I really liked him. I loved him, but I also know how easy it is for musicians to get girls," Wyatt noted.
Still, she admitted to feeling blindsided when she discovered Urban's relationship with Kidman in a tabloid. "You have to understand Keith [sic] was a star and I was a nobody. But even by his standards, Nicole was a real superstar," she explained.

Wyatt then recalled how she had asked Urban about his relationship with Kidman after seeing a photo of the pair, to which the singer refused to speak about it.
The affair, she claimed, continued throughout his courtship and engagement to Kidman, with meet-ups as frequent as two or three times a week whenever Urban was in Nashville. Wyatt even had the security code to Urban's home. As for his struggles with substance abuse, Wyatt said his habits were well-known within their circle.
"He drank constantly," she alleged. "And he did drugs." She also insisted his addictions were no secret. "I'm sure she didn't know about his drug use but [sic] it was so obvious when he was with me," Wyatt said of Kidman. "Maybe he kept it hidden from her."
Reflecting on her decision to come forward, Wyatt rejected labels that cast her as a villain or homewrecker in the narrative. "I'm sorry if I hurt Nicole," she stated. "But I just want to tell the truth and move on." In the end, she held firm to a sobering conclusion about the man she once loved, mentioning, "She deserves better."

A Marriage Rocked by Rehab
After Wyatt came forward with her allegations, a spokesperson for Urban dismissed the claims as a complete fabrication. Still, only a few months later, the singer's struggles became impossible to ignore. In October 2006, just four months into his marriage to Kidman, Urban voluntarily checked himself into a rehabilitation center for alcohol abuse.
In a statement released at the time, the Grammy-winning country star expressed remorse for the pain his relapse had caused his wife and loved ones. "One can never let one's guard down on recovery, and I'm afraid that I have," he added.

Though Urban had spoken before about his drug-use battles, reps confirmed this relapse was about alcohol. And while the world watched, Kidman stood by his side, her loyalty lauded as proof of their fairy-tale love.
A Crumbling Fairytale Nineteen Years Later
Nearly two decades after weathering those early struggles, the couple is now facing a turning point. Kidman and Urban have separated, with TMZ reporting that the pair has been living apart since the beginning of summer.
Sources close to the family revealed that Kidman has been caring for their two children — now 14 and 17 — while "holding the family together through this difficult time since Keith has been gone." Urban is said to have acquired his own residence in Nashville, moving out of the family's shared home in the same city.

Additionally, insiders claim the separation was not mutual, noting that Nicole Kidman has been actively trying to save the marriage. As for whether divorce is on the horizon, that decision has not yet been made.
While their separation marks a difficult chapter, it also casts a spotlight on the journey they shared — a love story that unfolded over 19 years of marriage, filled with milestones, resilience, and moments that once defined them as one of Hollywood's most enduring couples.
An Enchanting Beginning, and a Nervous Country Star
From the start, Urban was spellbound. Recalling the night he met Kidman at the 2005 G'Day LA event, the country crooner said she had an "otherworldly aura," comparing the moment to sneaking into a royal ball.
But even fairytales start with nerves: Urban held on to her number for days, too intimidated to call. When he finally did, the connection was instant.
"We just talked and talked like we'd known each other our whole lives," he recalled, speaking directly to Kidman as he honored her at the 49th AFI Life Achievement Award event.
That depth of connection would be tested just months after their 2006 wedding, when Urban's long-ignored struggles with addiction nearly upended their new life together. "Four months into a marriage, I'm in rehab for three months," he confessed, recounting how Kidman stood by him during his stay at the Betty Ford Center.
Nicole Kidman's Devotion amid Chaos: 'She Chose Love'
"If you want to see what love in action really looks like, give that a whirl. Nic pushed through every negative voice, I'm sure even some of her own, and she chose love, and here we are tonight, 18 years later," he told the crowd.
Urban credited Kidman with teaching not only him, but also their daughters, the value of emotional honesty and resilience.

"She has a capacity to love like no one I've ever met," he said, calling Kidman resilient and someone who lives by a quiet but powerful mantra: choose love.
In closing, he added tenderly, "But next year will be 20 years that I've been madly in love with you. Congratulations, baby girl. I love you."
A Love Immortalized in Song
In a 2024 interview with People, Kidman revealed that her favorite song is "Once in a Lifetime," a track Urban released just five months after their nuptials. "Keith wrote that for me when we were first getting married," she disclosed.
The song, with its sweeping lyrics about devotion and the rarity of true love, became an emblem of the life they were beginning to build — one that would soon grow with the arrival of their daughters: the eldest born in 2008 and the youngest in 2010.
A Relationship from Another Time: 'We've Never Texted'
That emotional closeness extended into how the couple chose to communicate, even in the age of smartphones and constant connectivity. In a 2018 interview with Parade, Kidman revealed that she and Urban had never texted each other — not once in over a decade of marriage.
"Yep. We call. And that's 12 years of marriage," she shared, noting that their twelfth wedding anniversary was just around the corner at the time. "We've never texted. That is so not our relationship, which is interesting, right?" Kidman added.
Her words offered a rare, intimate look into their shared values — prioritizing clarity, presence, and emotional truth in a way that set their connection apart from so many others shaped by convenience. "I don't want that between my lover and I [sic]," she said, her conviction gentle but unwavering.
Pressed further on the secret to their enduring connection, Kidman didn't offer a grand philosophy — only sincerity. "Not having secrets," she revealed simply.
