For months, the silence around Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's divorce left fans guessing. Now, the Oscar-winning actress has finally broken it, but only just enough to raise more questions.

Her words came at a loaded moment. The story around her ex-husband had already grown loud, complicated, and very public, while Kidman spent the months since the split keeping a low profile and holding her family close.

Urban's name, meanwhile, was circulating in the tabloids for reasons that had nothing to do with his music. Whispers about new women in his life began surfacing not long after the split was announced, and the details that followed raised more than a few eyebrows.

The Separation That Shocked Fans

Kidman filed for divorce from Urban on September 30, 2025, in Nashville, citing irreconcilable differences. Court documents confirmed that the date of filing was also the date of their separation, marking the end of a 19-year marriage.

The split sent shockwaves through the entertainment world. A source close to the couple told People that Kidman "didn't want this" and had been "fighting to save the marriage." Her sister, Antonia Kidman, and the wider Kidman family rallied around her in the immediate aftermath.

A second source, however, told the outlet that those closest to Urban believed the breakup had been coming for some time. The two had reportedly already been living apart well before the official filing.

The summer before the divorce became public, the couple spent months on opposite sides of the globe. Kidman was in London filming "Practical Magic 2" while Urban was on his global "High and Alive World Tour."

By fall, their 19 years together were over. And Urban, it seemed, was not grieving alone.

Urban Moves On – Fast

Just weeks after the divorce filing, attention shifted sharply to the country star's inner circle. His longtime touring guitarist, Maggie Baugh, had resurfaced on Instagram on October 6, 2025, with a cryptic all-black post captioned "Announcement coming soon…" — and the timing was impossible to ignore.

It landed on the same day Kidman made her first public appearance since filing for divorce, stepping out at Paris Fashion Week solo, radiant, and notably without her wedding ring. Photographers captured Kidman blowing a kiss to the cameras in a crisp white shirt, her signature blonde hair perfectly styled.

Baugh is no passing acquaintance. The Florida-born multi-instrumentalist had been a fixture in Urban's touring band for years, playing guitar and fiddle on some of his biggest stages.

She once described the experience as "like going to rock star school," crediting Urban as "a musical encyclopedia." As recently as September 24, 2025 — just days before the divorce filing — she had posted about touring with him in Chicago, calling it "always a blast."

Baugh did not publicly address the speculation surrounding her post's timing. Neither did Urban. But the internet had already connected the dots.

A Second Name Enters the Picture

If Baugh's cryptic post stirred curiosity, the most recent rumors turned up the heat considerably. Insiders claim the country star has already moved on. And not just casually. They say he's now in a new relationship that's progressing far faster than anyone expected.

The name that continues to surface is Karley Scott Collins. While neither party's representatives have commented on the rumors, there's no denying that the two have spent a considerable amount of time together.

Scott Collins joined Urban on the C2C Music Tour across the United Kingdom and Europe early last year, months before the separation was announced.

She was also part of his "High and Alive" tour across the United States. That final performance wrapped just days after news of the split broke. Although no one has suggested an affair took place, the chemistry between the two did not go unnoticed.

Then came the birthday post. Last October, Scott Collins shared a heartfelt photo of her and Urban hugging on stage. In the caption, she wrote:

"I am so grateful for the time we spent on the road with you and everything the boys and I had the opportunity to learn from you and your team. We will never forget how kind you were to us on our first big tour. ❤️ feel so lucky to call you a friend!"

While there's no official confirmation that anything romantic has unfolded, fans are watching closely. Reactions online have been swift, and they have not all been kind.

"He has a type!" one netizen exclaimed. Another commented, "Looks just like Nicole!!" A third added, "Younger version of Nicole 😮."

One person criticized Urban directly, "He could be her father. 🙄" Others kept focusing on the similarities. "Looks like a young Nicole," one person noted. Another shared, "She has Nicole's nose."

The comparisons continued. "Nicole's younger twin. 🙄" someone remarked, while another added plainly, "She looks so much like Nicole."

'Everything Else I Don't Discuss,' Says Kidman

Against all of that noise, Kidman's first public comments on the divorce landed with quiet force. In a sit-down interview with Variety, published March 11, 2026, a reporter asked Kidman directly: was she doing all right?

Her answer was both open and guarded. "I am, because I'm always going to be moving toward what's good," she said. "What I'm grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That's that. Everything else I don't discuss out of respect."

She made one thing clear above all else. "I'm staying in a place of, 'We are a family,' and that's what we'll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women."

It was the first public statement Kidman had made about the divorce since it was announced — and she kept it exactly that brief.

A Year in Her Shell

When asked why 2026 would be her year, Kidman didn't shy away from acknowledging just how hard 2025 had been. "Well, not last year," she said. "I was quiet. I had other things going on. I was in my shell."

But she signaled a clear shift. "Now I'm in a place of saying, '2026. Here we go.' I have 'Practical Magic' with Sandy. I'll be in full witch mode."

That Variety interview also came with a striking photoshoot, shot by photographer Nino Munoz in Nashville — Kidman's home turf — looking every bit like someone stepping confidently back into the light.

The response on social media was immediate and enthusiastic, with one fan summing up what many were thinking: "She is way out Keith Urban's league, so much more accomplished than him!"

Kidman Keeps Moving

Whatever is happening behind closed doors, Kidman is not standing still. The Variety cover story arrived just ahead of a packed 2026 slate that includes the Prime Video series "Scarpetta," the third season of "Lioness," and the highly anticipated "Practical Magic 2" alongside Sandra Bullock — nearly 30 years after the original.

Her words about her daughters lingered longest. There was grief folded into that sentence — but also pride. And in typical Kidman fashion, she is turning both into forward momentum. She is out of her shell. And if 2026 is any indication, she is not going back in.
