The 2026 awards season is off to a dazzling start — and Britain's brightest talents are basking in global glory.

It was a night of triumph, tears, and trailblazing talent as Hollywood's biggest night ushered in awards season — and this year, Britain came to win.

While not every nominee walked away with a trophy, an impressive number of British actors and creatives earned nods for their powerful performances — and for a lucky few, the Golden Globe glory was real.

Stars from across film, television, and music were among the top contenders, with Helen Mirren, Bella Ramsey, Brett Goldstein, Aimee Lou Wood, Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law, Matthew Rhys, Cynthia Erivo, Jonny Greenwood, Max Richter, Jason Isaacs, Ashley Walters, Gary Oldman, Paul Mescal, and Emily Blunt all receiving nominations.

Among the most heart-stirring highlights of the night was the emotional victory of Stephen Graham, who took home Best Male Actor in a Television Limited Series, Anthology Series or Television Film for his work on the critically acclaimed British drama "Adolescence."

It was the first-ever Golden Globe for the beloved Kirkby-born actor — and the stakes couldn't have been higher, as Graham not only starred in the series but wrote it himself.

Clutching his trophy in disbelief, Graham humbly congratulated his fellow nominees and thanked his cast and crew. Then, turning to his wife in the audience, he paused and said softly, "You saved my life."

The raw emotion of the moment brought a hush over the room, and later, Graham delivered a backstage zinger no one saw coming.

Still stunned by his win, the 52-year-old star recounted a surreal encounter that made his night all the more unforgettable: he met Snoop Dogg.

"He shook my hand and he looked me right in the eyes — couldn't see his eyes because he had his glasses on — and said, 'You're a [expletive] gangster,'" Graham revealed. "My life is complete."

16-year-old Owen Cooper also stunned the audience by becoming the youngest Golden Globe winner in history, nabbing Best Supporting Male Actor on Television for his gritty, breakout role as Jamie Miller in "Adolescence."

Cooper, who had never acted before landing the role, admitted in his speech that he forced himself into "embarrassing" acting classes — where he was the only boy — just to give himself a shot.

His voice cracked with emotion as he stood on that Hollywood stage, clutching the trophy he never imagined would be his. The ballroom then erupted into thunderous applause, lifting the teenager into the ranks of Britain's brightest rising stars.

Erin Doherty rounded out the trio of wins for "Adolescence" with her trophy for Best Supporting Female Actor on Television.

Portraying the sharp, intuitive Briony Ariston, a therapist navigating family trauma, Doherty dedicated her win to real-life mental health professionals.

But before that, the actress kicked off her acceptance speech with a burst of unfiltered honesty, confessing she had "made a promise" to her mum not to swear on stage — only to immediately drop the F-bomb in sheer disbelief.

While part of the moment was censored by CBS, the expletive still made it to air, sparking laughter across the ballroom. Doherty quickly offered a cheeky apology to her mother, then shifted gears to thank her "Adolescence" cast mates, creative team, and, with heartfelt sincerity, gave a nod to therapists everywhere.

"I didn't want to assume but I feel like we all know therapists," she said from the stage. "I just think that life can be tough. Mental health is everything. Thank you to therapists and it was an honor to play one."

Finally, Ricky Gervais brought home the award for Best Stand-Up Comedy on Television for his Netflix special "Mortality," cementing his status as a global comedy titan. However, the comedian, known for his razor-sharp wit and dry humor, was not in attendance.

Scroll down to see which stars earned coveted nominations — and who walked away clutching their very own Golden Globes.
