As Princess Beatrice attempts to navigate a middle ground, her sister's hard line underscores a striking shift within the family — and adds fresh humiliation for the former royal at the centre of an unrelenting scandal.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is reportedly reeling after being cut off by his youngest daughter, Princess Eugenie, in the wake of public scrutiny over his relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The Mail on Sunday revealed that Princess Eugenie has completely severed contact with her father and even refused to see him over Christmas.

The 35-year-old princess, known for co-founding The Anti-Slavery Collective, an initiative meant to fight sex trafficking, is believed to have reached her breaking point following further damaging revelations about Andrew's ties to the late American financier.

Her decision, said to be final and without exception, is reportedly grounded in disappointment over Andrew's continued refusal to apologise to Jeffrey's victims. A source likened the rift to another public celebrity fallout, stating:

"There is no contact at all, nothing. It's Brooklyn Beckham level — she has completely cut him off."

Princess Beatrice, by contrast, is said to be treading a more cautious path. While trying to maintain ties with the former royal, she is reportedly balancing her loyalty to the Royal Family with the desire to keep some semblance of familial connection.

"Beatrice is trying to walk the fine line of not cutting her father off and yet remaining close with the Royal Family," a source explained. "They aren't exactly in regular and close contact at the moment, but Eugenie isn't trying to walk that line. She's not speaking to him."

According to reports, Princess Beatrice invited Andrew to the christening of her daughter, Athena, in December 2025, yet he did not attend the informal celebration that followed at a London pub. It remains unclear whether Princess Eugenie interacted with him during the occasion.

The strained family dynamics come as Andrew prepares to vacate Royal Lodge — the Windsor Estate residence he has occupied for over two decades — following a formal eviction.

As for the public reaction to the reported estrangement, netizens have been divided. Some offered sympathy, recognising the difficult position Princess Eugenie may have found herself in.

One person said, "This would be difficult for any daughter but he is so in the public eye, I am not a royalist but I feel for her [sic]." Another shared, "I feel bad for her. This is her father the one she looked up to and trusted [sic]. And he has let her down so badly."

Another added, "She has been given ultimatum of daddy or crown [sic]." One person remarked, "Maybe its good for herself and her future....ermmm [sic]," while another typed, "ts all such a sad story. I really feel for the two daughters ... [sic]"

The strained family dynamics come as Andrew prepares to vacate Royal Lodge — the Windsor Estate residence he has occupied for over two decades — following a formal eviction.

A removals van was seen at the property recently, and he is expected to relocate to a temporary home on the Sandringham Estate. The disgraced royal is also set to move into Marsh Farm, a smaller property on the estate, once renovations are completed around Easter.

It is understood that Andrew initially hoped to reside at Wood Farm, a secluded five-bedroom cottage near the pheasant shooting grounds. However, concerns were reportedly raised over the proximity to the Royal Family, who traditionally gather at Sandringham over the holidays.

The implications of these files remain open to interpretation, and their inclusion in legal records does not constitute proof of wrongdoing.

To add insult to injury, in addition to losing his home and contact with his daughter, Andrew's reputation has continued to unravel.

He was formally stripped of his royal titles in October 2025 after years of scandal stemming from his association with Jeffrey and allegations brought against him by Virginia Giuffre, who accused the former royal of sexually assaulting her when she was a teenager.

He has consistently denied the allegations. However, Andrew's downfall has only deepened with the release of the latest batch of Epstein-related documents in December 2025.

Among them were emails between Jeffrey's longtime associate and partner, Ghislaine Maxwell — now serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking — and a person referred to as "A" or the "Invisible Man."

In one 2001 message, "A" asked Jeffrey's former lover, "Have you found me some new inappropriate friends?" to which she replied:

She then signed off with "kisses." While the identity of "A" was not confirmed, certain references — including mentions of leaving the Royal Navy — mirrored key details from Andrew's life.

Other records from 2002 appeared to detail arrangements for a trip to Peru, with Ghislaine requesting "discreet introductions" for the visitor and noting a preference for women who were "intelligent, pretty, fun, and from good families."

The implications of these files remain open to interpretation, and their inclusion in legal records does not constitute proof of wrongdoing. Still, they have further eroded Andrew's public image, already battered by accusations and associations.

Once described as the Queen's favourite son, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's decline has been nothing short of spectacular.

Calls for Andrew to give evidence to a US Congress committee and the Department of Justice have also resurfaced. In April 2020, American authorities asked the UK government for assistance in compelling Andrew to cooperate if he refused to do so voluntarily.

They also sought details of any financial transactions or connections he had with Jeffrey and Ghislaine, articularly involving women linked to the pair.

Adding to the controversy, a photo emerged from Jeffrey's files showing Andrew reclining on the laps of women, with Maxwell visible in the background, in what is believed to be the Sandringham saloon — the same room where the Royal Family might have gathered for the King's Christmas address.

To make matters worse for Andrew, public patience with the former royal appears to be wearing thin. For some, the steady release of documents has simply reaffirmed their opinions. For others, it has reignited demands for transparency and accountability.

Once described as the Queen's favourite son, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's decline has been nothing short of spectacular. What began with questions over a controversial friendship has culminated in the most severe fall from grace a member of the modern monarchy has experienced.

Now, with his titles revoked, his home lost, and his relationship with his daughter in ruins, the question is not what more there is to know — but how much further he can fall.
