Late Queen’s Grandson Peter Phillips to Marry NHS Nurse: A Look at His Love Life After His Previous Marriage
Peter Phillips and his fiancée, NHS nurse Harriet Sperling, have officially set a date for their summer wedding. Here's everything you need to know about the couple — and the love story that led them here.
He has quietly navigated heartbreak, new beginnings, and the ever-watchful eye of the royal family. Now, for the second time in his life, Peter Phillips is walking down the aisle — and this time, all signs point to a fairytale ending.

Princess Anne's eldest son and the late Queen Elizabeth II's favourite grandson has confirmed that he and his fiancée, NHS paediatric nurse Harriet Sperling, will marry on 6 June 2026.
The private ceremony will take place at All Saints Church in Kemble, Cirencester — a fitting choice for the Gloucestershire-based couple. King Charles, Queen Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales have all been informed of the announcement, with further details expected in due course.

It will be a second marriage for Peter, 48, who was previously wed to Canadian-born Autumn Kelly for 13 years.
The pair share two daughters: Savannah, 14, and Isla, 13. Harriet, 45, also brings a teenage daughter, Georgia, from a previous relationship — meaning the couple's blended family will be very much at the heart of the celebrations.

Peter and Autumn Kelly: A Grand Wedding and a Quiet End
Peter's romantic history reads like a tale of two very different chapters. The first began at the Canadian Grand Prix in June 2003, when he met Montreal-born Autumn. The pair are said to have been immediately smitten, speaking every day by phone before Autumn eventually relocated to Britain.

After four years together, the couple announced their engagement in July 2007. Their wedding followed in May 2008, in a grand ceremony at St George's Chapel, Windsor — the same storied venue that would later host the weddings of Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie.
Guests included the late Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Princess Anne, and Prince Harry. Notably, Prince William was unable to attend, though his then-girlfriend Kate was present — many believe it was her first time meeting the late Queen.

The occasion made headlines for another reason too: the couple sold their wedding photographs to Hello! magazine for a reported £500,000 — a decision that raised eyebrows in royal circles.
There was a notable complication ahead of the nuptials as well. Because Autumn had been raised Catholic, she was required to be received into the Church of England before the marriage could take place, as the Act of Settlement 1701 stipulated that those in line to the British throne could only marry Protestants. That act has since been repealed.

The couple went on to build a full life together, living on Princess Anne's Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire and spending time in Hong Kong during Peter's tenure with the Royal Bank of Scotland.
They welcomed their first daughter, Savannah Anne Kathleen — Queen Elizabeth's first great-grandchild — on 29 December 2010, followed by Isla Elizabeth on 29 March 2012.

The split, when it came, was said to be a personal blow to the late Queen, who had enjoyed a particularly close bond with Autumn. By February 2020, however, the couple confirmed they had separated the previous year and were planning to divorce.
In a joint statement, they said, "Whilst this is a sad day for Peter and Autumn, they continue to put the wellbeing and upbringing of their wonderful daughters Savannah and Isla first and foremost. Both Peter and Autumn are pleased to have resolved matters amicably with the children firmly at the forefront of those thoughts and decisions."
The divorce was finalised on 14 June 2021. Peter and Autumn are understood to remain on good terms as they continue to co-parent Savannah and Isla.

A New Chapter: Lindsay Wallace
By 2021, Peter had quietly begun a new relationship with Lindsay Wallace, a stay-at-home mother who quickly became a hit with the royal family. Rumours of a romance first surfaced when Peter made a visit to see her in March 2021 — raising some eyebrows given the lockdown restrictions in place at the time.
A source told the Telegraph that the friendship between Peter and Lindsay had deepened following their respective divorces. "They were friends first because Lindsay is very close to Zara but then the relationship developed into something much closer," said the friend. "They are really happy together."

Peter signalled the seriousness of the relationship when he brought Lindsay as his date to his nephew Lucas Tindall's christening later that year.
During their time together, Peter introduced Lindsay to his late grandmother, the Queen, at a shooting party at Windsor. The encounter was reportedly warm, and Lindsay went on to join Peter at several high-profile royal events — including the Platinum Jubilee celebrations and the Coronation concert, where she sat alongside Savannah and Isla.

Their final public appearance together came at Wimbledon in 2023. By spring 2024, it became clear that something had shifted — Peter arrived solo at the Cheltenham Festival while his sister Zara Tindall and his cousins Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie were all accompanied by their partners.
A friend of the former couple confirmed the split to Hello! magazine, noting that Peter's relentless travel schedule — particularly his work in Formula 1 — had made it increasingly difficult for them to spend time together. "It obviously came as a shock as most people thought they were absolutely rock solid," the source said. "It's very sad."

Enter Harriet Sperling
Weeks after the split from Lindsay became known, Peter made his first public appearance with a new woman by his side. Sources told The Sun that the pair looked utterly smitten at the Badminton Horse Trials in May 2024, where they walked hand-in-hand cheering on Peter's equestrian sister Zara.
It is believed the couple met through a mutual sporting connection. A friend of Peter's noted at the time that he had met someone recently and that things were still in the early stages.

But the relationship moved quickly. By June 2024, Harriet was at Royal Ascot, where she was seen chatting warmly with King Charles and Queen Camilla — making an immediately positive impression on the family.
The couple went on to attend Wimbledon, Prince William's charity polo matches, the Gloucestershire Festival of Polo, and the Bahrain Grand Prix together. Perhaps the most telling milestone came when Harriet joined the royals on their annual summer break at Balmoral, where she spent time bonding with Savannah, Isla, and the wider family.

Peter proposed over the summer of 2024. The engagement announcement confirmed:
"Both families were informed jointly of the announcement and were delighted with the wonderful news of their engagement."
Alongside the statement came photographs of the couple standing happily in a field, Harriet's exquisite diamond ring — sourced from Mayfair jeweller Pragnell, which has longstanding ties to the royal family — prominently on display.
Now, with a June wedding confirmed and the whole royal family informed, it seems Peter has found his happy ending. For a man long regarded as one of the most quietly beloved members of the royal family — and the favourite grandson of a queen who watched over him his entire life — it feels like a moment very much worth celebrating.
