Jim Carrey faces public backlash due to his new controversial painting is believed to be political
Actor/comedian Jim Carrey has launched another wave of outraged debate, this time over his art.
Controversy is nothing new to actor/ comedian Jim Carrey. Since the last incident that hit the headlines that involved him had him embroiled in the apparent suicide of his girlfriend, Cathriona White, in 2016 his career seems to have faded.
Since then, his popularity and reputation tarnished, Carrey has dedicated himself to the visual arts, more specifically to painting.
But it seems that everything that Carrey touches turns to scandal, reported CBS News.com on the 19th of March 2018. The actor-turned-artist seems to be mixing oil paints and politics and the results are severe criticism on the part of the social media.
His latest piece which he posted on social media is the portrait of a woman, and Carrey added a caption that aroused suspicions that the person represented is the White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
"This is the portrait of a so-called Christian whose only purpose in life is to lie for the wicked. Monstrous!"

Public response has been heated and varied. Some defend his right to free speech and to represent the woman in the portrait as he wishes; others call his unflattering portrait 'shaming' and a form of bullying.
Still another group object to Carrey's use of the word 'Christian' and some even accuse him of belonging to a covert sect known as the Illuminati who are supposed to be launching a dire conspiracy to discredit authority and governments and take over the world.
Carrey is accused of being part of a chaotic organization whose true aim is the destruction of society and the status quo.
A publicist representing Jim Carrey has confirmed that the actor/ comedian is indeed the author of the work of art, but has declined to confirm the identity of the subject.
The White House press office, and more specifically Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders have not responded to any inquiries or requests for comment on this incident.
