All there was left to do was keep her as comfortable as possible in her final days.

As reported by Jumble Joy, Joey Feek, who was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2014, had entered hospice care in her home and decided to focus on living the time that she had left with her family.

Rory Feek, her husband, made an announcement through a blog post that Joey's days are numbered after struggling with cervical cancer.

Joey's cancer became terminal in October 2015. They decided to stop all the treatments because the chemotherapy and radiation were not working anymore.

She began receiving hospice care in their family home in November 2015 and her health started to rapidly decline.

The country singer had her hospital bed near a carpet because she wanted to watch her daughter, Indiana, play.

Joey's family also wanted to make sure that she could spend her final days with little Indiana.

In November 2015, Joey told The Tennessean that she didn't hate God, but was disappointed because after she underwent a surgery to eradicate the cancer, it had returned as terminal.

Rory continued to chronicle his wife's final days through a series of blog posts. The couple kept a positive attitude and they never gave up hope.

But in February 2016, Joey told her husband that she was ready to stop fighting because she was very tired.

During that time, Joey showed signs of organ dysfunction and shutdown due to cancer continuing to metastasize. She passed away on March 4, 2016, at the age of 40. She was surrounded by her loved ones.

'My wife's greatest dream came true today. She is in Heaven. The cancer is gone. The pain has ceased. And all her tears are dry,' Rory wrote in a blog post, as reported by Today.

Rory held a private funeral on their farm in Tennessee. His wife was buried in the family cemetery on the Feek farm.
