The King of Rock and Roll’s granddaughter chose a different path. She found her joy in acting instead of being in the music industry.
Riley Keough is the 28-year-old daughter of Lisa Marie Presley and Danny Keough. Pop Culture shared that she is part of the cast of the new thriller film, Welcome The Stranger, wherein she reportedly has a steamy love scene with her co-star, Caleb Landry Jones.
Keough plays the role of Misty in the film. She is the former girlfriend of Jones’ character, Ethan.
Talking to The Guardian in 2017, Keough shared that her work ethic keeps her going as an actress. She admitted to being a “workaholic.”
As for her grandfather, she said she isn’t as bothered to be Elvis Presley’s granddaughter, as what other people think. In fact, she said being the granddaughter of the King helped her career so much.
She said she was very lucky to be in such a position."(But being a Presley's) been a huge help. I’m very privileged. Like the normal story of moving to LA and it takes you three years to find an agent? I got one in a week," she said.
Keough had her big break in 2010 when she appeared in The Runaways. In 2017, she had appearances in over six films, including, Mad Max: Fury Road and The Girlfriend Experience, which earned a Golden Globe nomination.
The 28-year-old was only six when her mother and father were divorced. Twenty days after, Lisa Marie married Michael Jackson, but their marriage only lasted for two years.
Since then, Keough had been dividing her time between her mother and father.
While most of her relatives are very musical, Keough admitted that music had always been something she did not want to pursue.
She admitted, “I played piano but I’m not particularly gifted. Movies felt endless to me, whereas music I could see myself getting bored of.”
Welcome The Stranger is bound to be released by the end of 2018.
