'Blue Bloods' set to welcome 2 former actors while a key character is feared to be leaving
Fans can expect a major twist on the hit series.
As reported by Pop Culture, two old characters may re-appear on the popular CBS series, Blue Bloods.
Meanwhile, another character may have to leave the police procedural drama, according to the report.
Internet has been abuzz about the possible return of Jack Boyle and Mayor Margaret Dutton, who had not been on the show for a while.
The two characters are said to be re-introduced to viewers in the upcoming episode, titled Friendship, Love and Loyalty.
Jack Boyle, who is the ex-husband of Erin Reagan, is played by actor, Peter Hermann. The character was last seen in the episode, Cutting Losses, which aired in 2017.
Aside from Boyle, Margaret Dutton, the new Mayor of New York City played by Lorraine Bracco, will also appear in the upcoming episode.
Fans will remember Dutton as clashing with New York Police Commissioner Frank Reagan, played by Tom Selleck. Her progressive agenda opposes with his conservative views.
Another possible twist is that officer Eddie Janko might be killed off. Janko was shot in the previous episode.
Recently, CBS issued the episode description for the upcoming episode. It includes the line, 'Eddie is shot while on duty.'
Fans, however, are not entirely into the idea of Eddie leaving the series. Eddie, they believe, may survive the gunshot wound.
It's not uncommon for characters to have a near-death experience on the series.
The new episode will show Danny Reagan and Maria Baez working together to solve the mystery behind a murder. The case stemmed from a complaint filed by a woman over the death of her young son.
Erin and Anthony Abetamarco didn't take up the case because they deem the evidence to be insufficient. But Danny and Maria are bent on solving the crime.
Since its first episode aired on September 24, 2010, Blue Bloods continues to be a hit to viewers.
