Share Tap reported that two students saw a woman banging a car with a hammer and thought it was strange.

Jack Long and Shane Simpson, Missouri Western safeties, decided to ride home together after their football practice one day.

As the students were leaving the campus, they saw something strange. They spotted an elderly woman banging a parked car with a hammer.

At first, they thought the woman had locked herself out. But they were puzzled because it was not something one would do and a locksmith could have easily helped in such situation.

They decided to investigate further and see what she was really up to.

Long and Simpson approached the hammer-wielding woman cautiously after circling around to the car’s location.

The woman, whom they later came to know as Teresa Gall, ran straight towards them, still holding the hammer in one hand. It was when she cried out for help that they knew something was wrong.

She had indeed locked her keys inside, but the reason for her extreme behavior and the wild-eyed look was much more than just the keys inside. She told them, “There’s a baby stuck in the car!”

Long and Simpson immediately looked inside the car window and saw a baby in need of help. Locked in the car was Gall’s grandson, 17-month-old Liam.

It had only been a couple of minutes that the toddler was trapped inside the car, but a temperature 98 degrees outside was not helping him. The little one was already succumbing to heat stroke.

The elderly woman saw Liam vomiting and losing consciousness. That’s when she prayed, “God please send somebody.”

It was at the precise moment that Long and Simpson arrived on the scene.

In fact, it was a strange coincidence as the two students were forced to take a different route that day. Had it not been for that little divine intervention, they would never have seen Gall with the hammer.
