One fan expressed disappointment, "She used to be so beautiful! Her face looks so gaunt & overly plastic." Some fans believed aging was a factor, as one wrote, "She got older, that's why she looks different. You can't expect a woman to look like a teenager forever." Finally, a fan found some beauty in the transformation, adding, "She looks so different from original JS but still beautiful."

When Simpson rose to fame in the 2000s, she was often scrutinized, with her physical appearance becoming a subject of frequent commentary. Even after becoming a mother, the focus on her physique remained. Her children, Maxwell, Ace, and Birdie, would often wonder why so much attention was placed on her looks.

Despite this, she encourages them to ignore external opinions and focus on how they feel about themselves. Jessica Simpson is careful not to complain about weight or calories in front of her kids, aiming to set an example by living a healthy lifestyle. While she doesn't aspire to be a role model for the world, she prioritizes being one for her children.

The singer has emphasized that the focus should shift from weight to mental well-being, noting that conversations about weight need not be a constant topic.

Despite the ongoing discussions about her body over the years, Simpson has turned these changes into an asset. Through The Jessica Simpson Collection, she relates to many women by understanding the experience of navigating different body sizes.

The singer is excited to go back to her purpose as her last original studio album, "Do You Know," was released in 2008. She considers herself an icon, who is aligned in their purpose and believes in themselves.

In 2023, she received the Icon Award at the Footwear News Achievement Awards and explained what the term means to her. "An icon is someone who is not afraid to take risks. And often, their choices don't make sense in the immediate, but they're part of an enlightened understanding of the big picture. It's someone who transcends a particular time or place and defines a moment," she elaborated.

Authenticity is also part of her iconic existence in both her career and personal life. "My younger self definitely cared and wanted to be accepted. I had to grow up in the business. Words can hurt. But it's the icons who stay. Because they don't believe it. They know that their purpose is bigger," she noted.

Simpson is also mindful not to focus solely on searching for something that would create an impact or become an iconic moment. "I set out to be vulnerable, honest, authentic," she explained. These are values her fans can expect in her work, including her upcoming music.
