The young soccer fans celebrated their heroes with plenty of energy, but their team loyalty was only the beginning of what caught people's attention.

Anna Kournikova marked Spain's FIFA World Cup Final victory on July 19, 2026, by sharing a new family photo the following day. Three of the four children she shares with Enrique Iglesias appeared in the image, and their changing looks soon had fans debating which famous parent they resemble most.

Three Young Fans Celebrate Spain's Victory

Spain's win over Argentina gave Kournikova and Iglesias' household a personal reason to celebrate. In the photo posted on July 20, twins Lucy and Nicholas, 8, joined their 6-year-old sister, Mary, in wearing Spain jerseys.

Kournikova kept her caption simple, adding three red hearts instead of explaining the scene. The children supplied all the excitement themselves, especially Nicholas, who appeared to be shouting, "Goal!"

The former tennis champion has been with the "Hero" singer since 2001. Although Kournikova was born in Russia, the children's choice of jerseys reflected the side of the family that has followed Spain through years of World Cup hopes and heartbreak.

Still, the jerseys were not the only family connection visible in the picture. As fans looked more closely at the children's faces, the celebration quickly became an unofficial contest over whose genes were winning.

Fans See Both Parents in the Children's Faces

Some commenters believed the children carried an almost perfect combination of Kournikova and Iglesias. One person wrote, "They're dad's photocopy in mom's colors 🔥👏🇪🇸 [sic]." Another focused squarely on their mother, commenting, "Damn a little copy of mom🥰🏆." A third admirer was less willing to choose, writing, "They are beautiful just like mama and papa."

Mary, who is also known by the Russian form of her name, received plenty of attention. One fan told Kournikova, "Masha looks exactly like you @annakournikova ❤️." The children's ages also surprised followers who remembered them as toddlers. One person exclaimed, "Omg @annakournikova the kids are getting sooo big! ❤️."

Nicholas, meanwhile, had several people looking toward his father. A commenter declared, "The son is just like his father 😅." Others remained firmly on Team Anna. One wrote, "Mum's youngest copy🥰." Another agreed, "Mama's genes sure took over."

The debate stayed affectionate even when people reached different conclusions. One admirer commented, "How beautiful, just like the parents 😍😍😍😍 they are beautiful ❤️ [sic]." Another added, "They are gorgeous. Like her." Someone else saw both parents in the children and wrote, "What a beautiful blend of you and your husband."

One comment read, "Handsome boys🔥❤️ How they've changed, matured🤗🤗🤗🤗." Although the photo featured Nicholas with his two sisters, the reaction still reflected how dramatically the children have grown since their parents first introduced them.

The family's Spanish connection also remained impossible to miss. One supporter wrote, "❤️❤️❤️🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸 adorable and beautiful Spanish children, like their dad @enriqueiglesias 🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸❤️❤️❤️ [sic]."

With opinions split between Kournikova's features and Iglesias' unmistakable resemblance, the picture offered no unanimous winner. The children appeared to inherit a little from each parent, even if their soccer allegiance clearly leaned toward Dad.

Their Baby Brother Missed the Family Photo

There was one notable absence from the celebration. Kournikova and Iglesias' youngest child, Romeo, did not appear alongside Lucy, Nicholas, and Mary.

The couple welcomed Romeo in December 2025, several months after news emerged that they were preparing to become parents for the fourth time. His absence makes sense given his age, although it also means fans will have to wait before bringing him into the resemblance debate.

When Kournikova's pregnancy became public in 2025, a source told People that she and Iglesias were delighted to expand their family. The insider described them as involved parents who genuinely enjoyed raising their three older children.

Parenthood had also changed how Iglesias approached his career. According to the source, he had reduced his touring commitments so he could spend more time at home.

"He loves his fans and loves to tour, but as he has gotten older and become a parent, it has been harder for him to leave," the insider said. "He will never forsake his fans, but being a dad is very important to him."

That attachment was already evident before Romeo arrived. While traveling with Pitbull and Ricky Martin for "The Trilogy Tour" in 2023, Iglesias admitted that being separated from his children was difficult. "When I go on the road, I miss them a lot. I feel like they're still not old enough to go on the road with me," he told People.

His backstage habits had become much calmer as well. Iglesias explained that he preferred quiet before performing and joked that his routine was "the complete opposite of 'Almost Famous.'"

Lucy and Nicholas Quickly Embraced Masha

Mary's appearance in the new photo also shows how naturally she became part of the older children's little team. When she was just 5 weeks old in 2020, Iglesias revealed that Lucy and Nicholas had adjusted smoothly to becoming an older sister and brother.

During an event in Beverly Hills, California, the singer confirmed that his newborn daughter's name was Mary, or Masha in Russian. The second name honored Kournikova's background and later became the one some fans used when commenting on her resemblance to her mother.

Iglesias had initially worried about bringing a baby into an already busy home. The twins were 2 at the time, and the family also had two dogs.

"They actually love it," he told People. "There's a two-year difference, so I was a little scared. I was like, 'How are they going to react?' And I have two dogs so my house is chaotic. When we first came home with Masha, I was like, 'Oh, how is everybody going to react?'"

Six years later, the siblings looked perfectly united as they cheered for Spain. Their bond may have developed inside a lively household, but their enthusiasm for soccer appears to have come directly from Iglesias.

Enrique Iglesias Has Always Put Spain First During the World Cup

Iglesias moved to the United States as a child, yet his affection for Spain's national team never faded. In 2010, he recalled playing right wing in Spain until he was 8 and said his favorite childhood memories involved scoring goals. "When you score you felt like you were on top of the world," he told CNN.

His devotion to the World Cup was so strong that it once created a problem with his music schedule. While preparing to release his album "Euphoria" in July 2010, Iglesias asked his record company to postpone it until September so he could watch the tournament.

His request was denied, but the company agreed to keep his schedule open whenever Spain played. Iglesias bluntly admitted that the World Cup was the rare occasion when music dropped into second place. But that was before he had kids, of course.

He had good reason to feel emotionally invested. Iglesias remembered watching Spain lose to South Korea in 2002 and believed major refereeing mistakes had affected the match. His happier memories stretched back even further. At age 5, he attended the 1982 World Cup final between Italy and Germany in Spain and remembered Paolo Rossi as his idol from that tournament.

In 2010, Iglesias believed Spain finally had the complete team needed to go all the way. His confidence proved justified when the country captured its first World Cup title.

Sixteen years later, another victory gave him a new generation of supporters at home. Lucy, Nicholas, and Mary may look like both parents, but the photo leaves little doubt about who passed down their passion for Spain.
