No matter how outspoken someone might be, there is always something that they keep to themselves. Some might call them 'inner demons,' but it is never clear.

Those demons, also known as personal issues, can lead people to do unspeakable things. On April 2, 2018, California Highway Patrol officials were shocked to find five members of a family dead at the bottom of a cliff.

Jennifer and Sarah Hart, both 39, perished, along with three of her eight children, after their SUV plunged off the cliff at 90 mph without breaking, as reported by the Daily Mail.

Captain Greg Baartsh, from the California Highway Patrol Northern Division, claimed that the information was recovered from the black box found within the vehicle.

What baffled the authorities was the fact that there were no skid marks nor any indication that the driver tried to break before falling down the cliff. This led the police officers to believe that the crash was intentional.

According to the source, authorities claimed that the whole family was inside the vehicle, a 2003 GMC Yukon XL, before it hit the rocks. Both mothers, as well as three children, Markis, 19, Jeremiah, 14 and Abigail, 14, were found dead.

The other three children, Hannah, 16, Devonte, 15, and Sierra, 12, haven't been found yet but search teams have been investigating the area to find out what happened to them.

As reported by the Daily Mail, it isn't clear, but it is possible that they were thrown out of the SUV upon impact, and that their bodies were taken away by the strong current.

A search warrant was issued to allow the authorities to search the family's home in hopes to find a possible suicide note, itinerary or indication of what might have led to the tragedy.

Things weren't well in the family; Bruce and Dana DeKalb, neighbors of the Harts, called child protective service last week after Devonte showed up at their house almost every day asking for food.

Sarah was also accused by other neighbors of abusing their children. In 2011, she was charged with domestic assault after letting her 'anger get out of control' while spanking one of her daughters.
