'Is the scar of my soul.' Mariska Hargitay made a frank confession about her late mother

It has been more than 50 years since the death of the iconic actress.

Mariska Hargitay reflected on her famous mother and her untimely death and made a heart-touching confession, reported Shared.

The star of Law and Order: SVU, Mariska Hargitay is the daughter of famous parents. Her mother was model and actress Jayne Mansfield, and her father was the Hungarian bodybuilder Mickey Hargitay.

The two also appeared in movies such as The Loves of Hercules and Promises, Promises. Mickey and Mansfield parted ways three years before her tragic death in a car accident at age 34.

A less-known fact is that the late movie star’s children were also in the car during the fatal crash.

While Mansfield, her boyfriend, and their driver sat up front, Mariska Hargitay and her brothers were sleeping in the backseat of the car.

The crash killed all the three adults in the car. However, the children survived miraculously.

Hargitay was only three at the time of the crash and does not remember the crash. But there is something that will remind her of the fateful day. She still has a scar on the side of her face and losing her mother in the accident still hurts more than the accident ever did.

Calling her an inspiration, Hargitay said that her mother was ahead of her time. Mansfield was known as the ‘blonde bombshell,” but her daughter said there was more to the actress.

Not many fans know that Mansfield played the violin and had an IQ of 160, had five children and loved dogs.

Another connection she shared with her mother is being a mother. She has three children of her own. Hargitay has become closer to Mansfield since becoming a mother herself.
