According to Liftable, Mingquing, and Dengying had been selling fruits by the side of the road in Chengdu, China, when they lost Qifeng.

It happened when Mingquing went next door to get a change from another stand and realized that his toddler daughter was nowhere to be found.

The parents did everything in their power, looking everywhere for their daughter and asking everyone in sight about the whereabouts of their toddler.

Eventually, in 2015, Mingquing took up a job as a taxi driver with Didi Chuxing. He not only put up a large sticker on the behind of his car but also passed out small business cards to his passengers for them to contact if new information comes out.

Mingquing used the picture of his other daughter to search for Qifeng, stating that the two of them looked similar. The father always held the belief that he would find his daughter one day.

When a police sketch artist about the story of Mingquing and his missing daughter, he decided to help. He drew a sketch of Qifeng making her look exactly like she does today. The image was then circulated across the internet.

Fortunately, a woman named Kang Ying found the post and was shocked by the number of similarities she had with the missing person.

She had always been told by her parents that she was found on the side of the road. She grew up only 12 miles away from Chengdu, raised by adoptive parents.

Ying then conducted DNA tests, which confirmed that she was the missing daughter of Mingquing and Dengying.
