She was the ideal onscreen mother. Roseanne Barr became a household name after her performance on the hit show Roseanne. Fans loved her for her quick-wittedness and tough love.

The show is now coming back with Barr reprising her role as Roseanne Conner. However, not many people remember that she is a mother in real life too.

Barr was a 17-year-old teenager when she gave birth to her first child, a daughter, Brandi Brown. Soon after her birth in 1970, Brandi was given up for adoption.

The mother-daughter duo was reunited after a gap of 17 years. They not only bonded again and were involved in each other’s lives personally, Brandi was also a critical part of her mother’s show as an assistant producer.

The actress met Bill Pentland for the first time in 1974. Pentland, who would go on to become her first husband, was a hotel clerk in Colorado.

The couple fell in love and tied the knot on February 4, 1974, and were married for 16 years. They had three children together, Jessica born in 1975, Jennifer born in 1976, and Jake born in 1978.

The daughters were among the writers of Roseanne, while their youngest child, Jake, had a short stint with the show appearing as a paperboy in a few episodes.

Days after divorcing Pentland, the actress married well-known comedian Tom Arnold. One of the writers on her show, they had met when he was the opener for her stand-up comedy act.

The couple was married for four years until their split in 1994. They had no children together.

The following year, Roseanne married Ben Thomas, her one-time personal security guard. The two welcomed a son, Buck, in 1995 after she became pregnant via IVF. The makers of her show did not hide her pregnancy during the seventh season of the show.

The couple parted ways and Roseanne met Johnny Argent online and began dating in 2003. Argent and Roseanne are not married and have no children yet.
