Mariah Carey reveals details about her battle with dreadful disease for the first time
Iconic Singer Mariah Carey recently opened up about her Bipolar Disorder for the first time.
AmoMama shares with you the heartbreaking details of Mariah Carey’s health issue and how she’s been coping with it as reported by Daily Mail on April 11, 2018.
Mariah Carey might seem like she has everything together and her life is the perfect fairytale story but the iconic singer recently opened up about her deepest struggles and how her life hasn’t been a complete bed of roses.
For the first time, Mariah opened up about her battle with the dreadful disease Bipolar II disorder.
Mariah was initially diagnosed with the disease in 2001 after being hospitalized for a physical and mental breakdown.
She explained that when she was diagnosed, she lived in denial and constant fear of her disease being exposed.
She said:
‘I didn’t want to believe it…. until recently I lived in denial and isolation and in constant fear someone would expose me. It was too heavy a burden to carry and I simply couldn’t do that anymore. I sought and received treatment’
The singer revealed that she began to seek treatment after what she termed ‘the hardest couple of years I’ve been through’.
It was when her romantic woes began that the singer decided to seek for help concerning her health.
Right now, Mariah is in a very good place as she’s feeling very positive about what the future holds for her.
She explained that she’s been constant with her medications and she feels better about herself as each day goes.
‘I’m actually taking medication that seems to be pretty good. It’s not making me feel too tired or sluggish or anything like that. Finding the proper balance is what is most important’ the 48-year-old singer said.
Bipolar II is reportedly difficult to diagnose but its difference from Bipolar I disorder is that bipolar II sufferers won’t experience a full maniac episode.
We hope Mariah’s revelation would give some hope to People around the world suffering from Bipolar Disorder. She sure is very brave for deciding to come out with this heavy truth.
Kudos Mariah!
