Scott Baio recently shared a heartwarming family photo featuring his wife, Renée Sloan, and their daughter, Bailey, sparking a wave of admiration from fans. Many couldn't help but agree with the actor's take on his daughter's resemblance to her mother.

Outside of these family adventures, Bailey is also a talented athlete. She is a junior golfer for IMG Academy Golf.

Furthermore, Bailey, 24, is a key part of the Bailey Baio Angel Foundation, born because of her parents' deeply personal and emotional journey. Shortly after Bailey's birth, she initially tested positive for a metabolic disorder. This led to ten weeks of immense fear and uncertainty in her parents.

Thankfully, further testing revealed the results were false positives, and Bailey was perfectly healthy. However, the experience opened the family's eyes to the struggles of parents whose children are truly affected by metabolic disorders.

Determined to make a difference, Baio and Sloan established the foundation to raise awareness about the importance of comprehensive newborn screening. The couple wants to ensure early detection and intervention for other families facing similar challenges.

Scott Baio and Sloan have been through another scary health issue and they supported each other through it. This occurred when Sloan was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

The pair, who have been together for 20 years and celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary on September 14, 2024, remain grateful for how far they have come.

Baio took to Instagram to celebrate their 17th anniversary, writing, "Married 17 years today and together 20. They said it wouldn't last. Meh!" He shared a beautiful photo of himself flanked by his wife and Bailey.

Baio and Sloan are an inspiration to their fans as their marriage has stood the test of time, as well as serious illnesses. In 2015, Baio announced that Sloan had been diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumor, noting that they hadn't learned yet if it was cancerous or not.

Baio noted that although 90 percent of such tumors were benign, they could lead to serious issues depending on their size and location. At the time, the couple was awaiting the information on its exact location to determine if it was operable.

He added, "Renee has been down some rough roads in her life, yet each time with her strong faith in God, she comes through a better and stronger person. During this time we ask for your prayers and support. My wife is my rock. She refuses to even shed one tear, nor will she question God's will."

The family showcased their solidarity, with Baio sharing that he, Sloan, and Bailey would navigate the challenge together. They hoped their experience might raise awareness about the importance of getting checked. The actor noted that approximately 6,500 people each year, mostly women, are diagnosed with such tumors.

The couple's mutual support got them through the initial diagnosis and in 2018, Sloan gave a health update on X, writing, "Besides having 2 meningioma brain tumors, in Oct 2017 I also learned I have Microvascular Brain Disease."

Baio responded to his wife's post, penning, "Unfortunately, this is true. Renee is forever my rock, my life & my soulmate! Toughest person I know. @MrsScottBaio."

Now, approaching 20 years of marriage, Baio and Sloan have faced significant health challenges, yet these hardships have only deepened their relationship and made their bond stronger.
