Victoria Beckham is publicly slammed 'for bringing pain to a horse by an unnecessary procedure'
Animals have as much right to live in peace as humans do but, unfortunately, animal cruelty is real and there are several animals worldwide who suffer on a daily basis.
Victoria Beckham, for example, has recently been accused of animal cruelty after posting a very specific photo of her daughter, Harper, riding her horse, Prince, on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.
The former Spice Girl was very proud of Harper and her horse-riding skills, so she probably didn't imagine the controversy that she was about to cause, as reported by the Daily Mail.
In the photo that the 43-year-old posted, Harper can be seen sitting on the horse, but the focus was on the drawing of a crown on the animal's body, which many people believed to have been branded.
Branding is extremely painful, as it involves a very hot iron being pressed and held against the skin. The fashion designer thought that she was only showing her daughter off, but she opened up the door to criticism.
According to the source, she was accused of animal cruelty by several Instagram users, including some animal rights activists, including PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).
So far, there is no proof whether the crown was branded on the horse or if it was drawn by clipping its hair. But the former singer wasn't the only celebrity accused of being cruel to animals.
As reported by the Daily Mail, a couple of years ago, Katie Prince faced a lot of angry comments after sharing some photos of intricate designs that hat been clipped on her horse.
While Beckham is yet to comment on the case, the former glamour model replied to the hate by proving that the clipping didn't hurt the horse and compared animal rights activist to birds, suggesting that PETA should 'bind their beaks.'
