Elderly woman requests table for one. Then young stranger asks her to sit next to him
It is nice to find these simple but meaningful ways to connect with people.
Liftable reported that an elderly woman waiting at a restaurant for a table had a stranger for company.
Heather Leigh was out having lunch with three other people at the Mt. Clemens Grill and the restaurant was quickly becoming quite packed.
There were many standing at the front door waiting for their turn to dine with their family, friends, or colleagues.
Also in line was an elderly woman waiting for a table. She was alone and needed a table just for herself.
Leigh and others at her table noticed something heartwarming. A young man stood up and approached the elderly woman.
He must have noticed the woman standing alone among the groups of people. Leigh started to notice the interaction between the young man and the elderly woman with interest.
The group could not believe what the young man was about to say. He pointed at his table and said that he had three empty seats at his table.
“Would you like to sit with me so you don’t have to wait?” he said.
He then ushered the woman to his table. They noticed that the young man, instead of pulling out a chair for her across from him, pulled out the chair right next to him.
‘Cue the four of us at our table with our hearts MELTING as he ushers her over to his table and pulls out the chair next to him, not across from him, to sit down. Periodically while we ate, we looked over to see them alternately sitting quietly and chatting with ease.’

The group noticed how the two complete strangers until sometime earlier were interacting with each other. There were times the two were sitting silently enjoying their meals.
There were also moments when they engaged comfortably in conversation.
Leigh’s thoughts have also touched many hearts and inspired many to appreciate the interaction between the two.
She said that though there was all the ‘ridiculousness’ happening in the country, it was nice to be reminded that there were still good people out there.
