Susan Lucci is 70 and she says she's 'too shy' to wear a bikini

Fans may not get to see the 71-year-old in a bikini anytime soon.

Fox News reported that soap opera star Susan Lucci is “too shy” to wear a bikini but is comfortable in a swimsuit.

The actress confessed that she occasionally buys a bikini but is too shy to wear one. Calling herself a “one-piece person,” she said there are times when people walk up to her on the beach often.

However, the actress is not afraid to flaunt her figure in a swimsuit and hopes other women feel more confident about their bodies.

“Sometimes we put artificial labels on ourselves and we think, ‘Oh this is inappropriate’ and you can end up looking older than you are and nobody wants to do that.”

Lucci’s advice to women is not to allow these labels affect them and to follow their hearts. She also revealed that she tried to keep her “inner monologue” about herself as positive as possible.

The actress believes that it is easy for women to find faults in themselves, but it is always better to be one’s own best friend and not to compare oneself to others.

Lucci is keeping herself busy jet-setting with her family. She is also aware of the rumors being circulated about an All My Children reboot, a show she starred in from 1970 to 2011.

She hopes that the speculations turn out to be true. She revealed that a man recently walked up to her at the Los Angeles airport wanting to know her thoughts about the series going on Netflix.

Lucci admitted that she only heard the word ‘Netflix’ and responded to the question saying “They’re fantastic.” Her character, Erica Kane, lives on even now.

She said that she sees Erica in a lot of people’s hearts and she sees her in airports, restaurants, shops, and on the street. People tell her that Erica is very much a big part of their lives.
