Sara Gilbert is full of praise of her on-screen daughter in Roseanne, Emma Kenney, after she opened up about her 'personal battles.'

According to Pop Sugar, Gilbert, who plays Darlene Conner, stated that she admired Kenney for addressing and confronting her issues. She further admitted that she wished she had done the same in her teenage years.

"I first want to say, Emma, I'm so proud of you. The whole cast and crew are so proud of you," the source quoted her as stating. "We all have demons, it takes a lot of courage to face them, particularly at 18."

She further stated that she wished she could "go back to being 18" and take actions that would have made life better and made her a better person today.

The online source informed that Kenney disclosed during an interview that she was seeking treatment and focusing on her mental and physical health.

She further revealed that she felt the need of doing this because she was "running with a really fast crowd" and doing things that were not appropriate to do at her age.

Kenney admitted that it was healthy and was making her feel worse. She stated how she was feeling more "anxious and depressed."

"It was just a slippery slope that I did not want to go down. And I knew that I needed to stop it," the online source quoted the actor as revealing.

From Gilbert's statement, it was clear that the Conner family from the set of Roseanne was fully behind Kenney's decision.

Besides sending her love and commendation Kenney's way, Gilbert also expressed her faith that Kenney would "come out the other side" from this difficult situation.
