Carrie Underwood spent the last several months healing an injury that left her with over 40 stitches. The country star didn’t reveal her face for what she said was scarring saying that she was afraid to reveal her face. She also broke her wrist but she has since recovered and was back on stage during the ACM Awards.

During the period that she was healing, sources say that she and her husband, Mike Fisher had lots of time to talk and lean on each other. The singer revealed in an interview with SiriusXM’s The Highway on April 19 that her husband was always on her side playing nurse.

“He’s all right [as a nurse]. I mean, I’m really terrible at letting anybody help me with anything, to be honest. I’m probably not a very good patient because I’m like, ‘I can do it. I’m not completely broken. I can do this.’ I’d say the hardest part was my wrist. Like, I can’t use my appendage, and I’m trying to pick my kid up and make food and do mom stuff.”

She also opened up about the accident letting it known for the first time what transpired. “It was unintentionally that way. [The accident] happened shortly after the CMAs. I just fell down. I was taking the dogs out to go do their thing before bed, and I just was clumsy and I tripped. I held on to the dog leashes in my left hand and went to catch myself with my right and just missed the step. There’s one lone step … And I said, ‘If I had fallen anywhere else, I would have been absolutely fine.’ But it’s just because there was — I went to catch myself and I missed.”

The Cry Pretty singer also explained that she just wanted to heal her injury before she went back into the limelight. She confessed to being scared all the time of someone seeing her shopping or something and posting her photo online. That’s why she went public about being different from the injury.

Carrie is back with new music and we are thrilled. Are you? Tell us in comments.
