Mom devastated by hateful note from a neighbor. They didn't know how difficult her life is
When an anonymous neighbor sent an offensive message to a single mom, the rest of the neighborhood decided to take an inspiring action.
Ayrielle Harvey received a hateful postcard in her mailbox from an anonymous writer who complained about the condition of her lawn and even attacked her character, according to a report from Liftable.
Harvey is a single mother, who lives in Harvey Park with her mother and little son. She works hard to provide for her family and her job is made more difficult by the fact that both her mother and son have mental and physical disabilities.
To cope with the financial pressures, Harvey works three jobs and provides entire care for her 3-year-old autistic son and her blind and deaf mother. Naturally, she is also responsible for taking care of all the tasks around the house.
Adding to all her problems, the 24-year-old single mother also has her own issues with depression and eating disorder to battle.
Upset by the anonymous postcard that read, 'Your yard is an embarrassment to the neighborhood,' Harvey took to Facebook to share her frustration. In the social media post, she talked about her hardships and daily struggles in providing for her family.
She also criticized the anonymous postcard sender for not trying to understand her situation before sending hurtful word her way. Harvey explained that her heart broke to find that someone had formed an opinion of her without really knowing her.
Harvey's Facebook post was seen by her neighbors and they could immediately empathize with her situation. They were outraged at the postcard and decided to take some action that would help Harvey feel better.
The neighbors then joined their efforts to help Harvey out and worked together to clean up her lawn. They organized a group to spend a day helping Harvey get her lawn 'in shape.'
