Chip Gaines makes wife Joanna blush on live TV with unexpected comment

Quite the funny man that he is, the reality star caught his wife off-guard this time.

Country Music Family reported that Chip and Joanna Gaines, appeared on the Today Show to talk about their new book.

HGTV’s hit show, Fixer Upper, has come to an end, but fans are thankful Chip and Joanna Gaines make a regular appearance on television.

The couple appeared on the Today Show to promote Joanna’s new cookbook, Magnolia Table: A Collection of Recipes for Gathering. They also spoke about their baby number five.

The duo sat around a dinner table full of items from the brand-new book even as the hosts praised the food. The hosts asked them how they were preparing for their fifth child who will join two brothers and two sisters all aged between 8 and 13.

The children are excited to have a new sibling join them, while the mother and father are happy to have “little helpers” to give them a hand.

Then, things took an unexpected turn when Chip took over the conversation to tell everyone how he feels about his wife.

“Prior to my relationship with Joanna, I always dated slightly bigger boned girls. So, whenever Jo is pregnant, it’s kind of my thing – it’s kind of my jam.”

At this precise moment, Joanna began to blush and attempted to laugh it off. She was rescued by one of the hosts, Savannah Guthrie, who changed the subject and began talking about the cookbook.

Reportedly, the couple is at odds these days. Chip and Joanna are unable to decide on a name for the boy they are expecting.

They have two boys whose names begin with D, Drake and Duke, while the daughters are Ella and Emmie.

Joanna, who recently celebrated her 40th birthday, said that she may have the upper hand over her husband. She said, “I say he got the boy, so I get to pick the name.”

Just before the segment, Chip had some fangirling’ over Joanna with fans of Today outside the studio. He posted the video himself on Instagram.
