The uncanny love between the two characters has finally culminated in a big wedding after years of unconventional courtship on TV.
As reported by Pop Culture, the popular CBS sitcom, The Big Bang Theory, will be featuring the wedding of two of its most geeky characters, Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah-Fowler during its episode that is set to air this Thursday night.
The network shared numerous photos from the shoot to commemorate the iconic moment in the history of the show. The show has been loved by its fans since its inception on September 24, 2007.
Its most notable character, Sheldon, played by actor Jim Parsons, has been known to be one of the most awkward characters on television. His relation with Amy, portrayed by Mayim Bialik, has blossomed over the years.
CBS took to social media to give its massive followership a sneak peek behind the scenes of shooting the episode where Sheldon and Amy get married.
The couple will get married on the finale of the show's 11th season on May 10, 2018. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, the guest list for the big wedding included a huge star cast.
This included the likes of Star Wars fame Mark Hamill, Wil Wheaton, Kathy Bates and famous magician Teller. Bates and Teller portray the Fowlers, Amy's parents, in the episode.
The show will feature Amy's female best friends, Penny Hofstadter and Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz, played by Kaley Cuoco and Melissa Rauch, respectively.
Sheldon's best man's honor, obviously, goes to his longtime roommate, Leonard Hofstadter, played Johnny Galecki. The friendship between the two scientists has been the backbone of the show.
The constant banter between the two that created numerous plots and adventures for each and every character on the show has been the staple for the script of the show throughout the decade.
The two characters will be sharing a heart-to-heart conversation during the episode which is touted be one of the rare emotional scenes in the episode.
45-year-old Parson has won four Primetime Emmy Awards and one Golden Globe for his phenomenal portrayal of the theoretical physicist, Sheldon Cooper. The fame of the character forced CBS to create a spinoff called Young Sheldon.
